Has ANYONE else complained about the court speed (or lack of) at Indian Wells? Or is it just Meddy?

I get it. Meddy hates it, but shut up about it already! I wonder if indeed anyone else is complaining, like Medvedev has stated....

That was open invitation for Nadal. He must be fuming for not playing there.
He'd have to develop a special 26 mm abdomenal tear or 3mm hamstring strain to be able to play his best tennis there, which I think is available only through magic water that he doesn't drink.

But he is the "injured person who plays tennis". Easy to develop any injury he wants.

I think just meddy. It’s part of his personality though. I see no harm in it really. I just thought he might have called the umpire a “Small Cat” again haha!

It's a necessity. Court texture prevents the desert dust from making the courts excessively slippery. If you live out here, you are constantly blowing dust off your patio furniture and deck every morning.
Every court I play on down here has a texturing applied. It slows things down and makes topspin something real. I'm sorry flat hitters don't enjoy it, but there are plenty of slick hardcourt everywhere else for you to enjoy.

Med admitted in his interview most players are fine with the court speed and that it’s him and there’s no sense in changing it for him.

(His interview after Zverev was quite good.)

Heck, big servers could also benefit from IW. Remember Isner's run in 2012.

That's some very interesting insight. I guess the most practical solution for Daniil would be to put on a pair of worn out shoes that don't have too much grip on the outsole.

I live nearby too and you're obviously correct about the wind. But I've been attending this event ever since I was a child when it was held at La Quinta. I first went in 1985. It was fast then. It was still fast until 2009. The wind was no different then. So it wasn't a necessity then and it wasn't a "necessity" until Larry Ellison took over. If the courts were medium fast for 25 years, they could be made fast again.
