Head Auxetic Radical

It's supposed to drop by the end of the year, with a "loud" paintjob (® @dr325i).
What do you expect/want? Are we getting new molds or mainly layup updates, as with the other Auxetic lines?

Personally, I'd love a larger sweetspot. I guess a lot of folks would also appreciate if they were more arm-friendly - quite a few people on these forums complained about arm pain.

Head’s official Instagram replied to someone’s question about the new Radical release, and said “February next year”.

I wish Head would do a Limited paintjob on the current Radical MP, like they did on the 3 versions prior to the 360.

There were some rumors about a nite edition for the radical this US open, I was skeptical they would launch this so close to the auxetic that was scheduled to arrive at the end of the year, but since they pushed it to 23, it may happen, fingers crossed.

I wrote Head a year or so ago telling them to release a radical with an 18x19 pattern.
Add auxetic for a better and softer feel, 18x19 for more control but good spin=AWESOME and I'm a buyer.

Hoping for more flex, the current Rad Pro is great, but too firm

Was supposed to happen at the USO 21. They even produced a batch with the Nite PJ. Later was canceled.

They did actually.
They thanked me for my comments/ suggestions and said they'd pass it along to headquarters for consideration for future radical racquets.
Nice enough
I’ve emailed HEAD three times in the past 5 years, and have always received a prompt, courteous reply. The fact that a large corporation like HEAD has a customer service department that actually responds to emails says a lot about their business philosophy.

The last one was to raise an issue with the black coating of Velocity MLT strings coming off rather too easily and leaving an abundance of black lines on tennis balls during play. I suggested that perhaps a small note was added to the packet mentioning that this can happen, so customers might choose the Natural colour instead if it was an issue. HEAD replied saying thank you for the feedback and sent me three packets of Velocity MLT in Natural colour. I never asked for or expected this, but was grateful for the excellent service.

You think it will looking the 2023 head radical squash racket? Almost like Iike graphene 360+ prototype, with some black paint. I hope not, looks a little ugly.

I prefer the more black one over the silver squash racquet.

Since the other thread got taken down; maybe because of the photos I posted of the new Radical & Gravity from the '23 Dealer brochure; or maybe other reasons, the colours of the Radical are Orange and Dark Navy. Bold, simple and similar to versions before the current 1. I have seen them in person from my Head rep just this week, so I can vouch for their colours. Brochure shows same colour

Is the majority of the hoop navy or orange?

@dr325i you have probably commented on this before but with Wilson selling the Blade Pro and Ultra Pros, which are basically Head frames with the Wilson grip shape - could Head ever capture that same feel again or did wilson add some magic of their own to the layup? I personally have not experienced anything as nice as the H22 in feel, and that is just an older Radical MP mold I believe in a 98 size. The closest comparison I have is my Austrian Bumblebee OS, which feels eerily close to the H22, but the bigger head size changes things up just a little.

The PT 2.0 imo does feel quite great, but is not the easiest frame to use. Anyway, just curious, I always wondered about that. I have pro stocks from Wilson, Head and Tecnifibre and they all feel like old school Head frames..lol.

The Prestige Pro has the old classic buttery feel.
the Gravity Pro is very soft
The H22 has multiple layups, some feel nice, some are noodles, some are harsh.

I also found that Extreme tour is pretty good as well as the Prestige MP and MPL.

Yeah I have the Gravity Pro (current) and like it a lot. But the new V8 Blade Pros - man that's worth giving a rip if you haven't. To me at least, it is top notch feel.

The PT 2.0 feels terrible compared to the Blade Pro. The PT 2.0 doesn't deserve the Pro Tour name. It's just a **** frame.

The recent Blade releases, v7 an V8 are far more in line with the Pro Tour heritage than the 2.0. The Blade Pro is next level good. Respect to Wilson, they seem to actually listen to their customers and release great quality frames.

The blade has nothing to do with the Pro Tour 630/280 (PT57A). Different mold, thicker beam, larger head.
the pro tour was and is a 20mm constant Box beam 95 sq in. mold -and the PT2.0 is exactly that.
it is natural that it does not have the original PT57A2 layup, but an excellent modern TGK57.5 layup. Excellent racket that made legendary frame easier to handle and be more competitive in todays world while retaining the familiar feel and feedback.

Hey @dr325i

Is the 325i in your name in reference to a BMW? The gold325 in my nickname is in reference to a gold 325i BMW I used to have...

Thanks for you information and knowledge your constantly dole out on the forum.

Appreciate it

So, as the previous thread was removed, I‘ll try to summarize info from it (plus the Laver Cup ed thread): new Radical MP seems softer, specially on off-center hits. Might be slightly more powerful as well. Same mold, different layup.

Any news on the Radical Pro front? I’d guess same mold, diff layup as well…

Haha, I loved it, however, I wish it was the 6MT instead of DCT.
I’d say the M2C 6MT (F87) I have right now is the best of the bunch.
Ah yeah, the tranny choice definitely swings it. I’m currently in an AWD, auto 340i and it feels like absolute blasphemy.
the saddest part is, it’s actually really amazing.

never thought I’d ditch manual… weekend car or if I didn’t drive as much as I do for work, I’d go back to rowing my own.

either way very nice car collection!

Haha, same thing. Back when I joined the forum in 2006 or so, I had the e90 325i.
Did not want to change it to 335, 335is, 340, M3C, M340i, or current M2C ;)

I had a 1993 325i sedan. Had the 2.8L M52 motor with S52 cams (M3) swapped in. Eventually upgraded to S52 motor. It was used exclusively for autocrossing. I loved it with that S52 motor but the M52 with S52 cams sounded so damn amazing.

My first BMW was the e46, then the M3 version of it. The M2C reminds me of it a little bit as it is very raw.
i like the S55 a lot and great mapping for an M2C. Not even thinking about the G87

Good choice for sure.

Suddenly it’s cars n coffee here!

I had a 335D m-sport lemans blue.
400 torque IIRC
And 500miles per tank on the hw

Back in an audi now
That’s a freaking cool car too! I’d be tempted to kill for that exact spec in wagon form.
Going to Audi is a curious move. While they make nice cars, I’ve never found one that offers the same driving experience as their Munich cousin. Seating position, handling, just pure feeling…
The transporter with Jason Statham went from bmw to Audi. I’ll stick to the original :-D

Haha touché

I’m in an oddball audi, however
It’s basically a Mini Cooper gone mad
