head youtek graphene speed mp

Has anyone switched from the youtek ig speed 315 16/19 to the graphene speed Mp what Supposedly replaces it. Looking for feedback on pros and cons in comparison to see if I shroud buy 1 to try.

Thanks

I have the youtek ig speed 315 16/19 27.2, graphene speed pro, and demo the gs mp. Both graphenes have more power than the 27.2 and the gs mp has as much to more spin. I plan to make a permanent switch to the gs pro since I like the extra weight and when strung with black widow is a spin monster. I found it quite comfortable, with a large sweet spot and good spin. The gs mp with its open string pattern had the best power but no where the control of its heavier brother. Hope this helps.

+1. Very good and informative post, I was almost in the exact same boat as you. I used to play with the ig speed 315 16/19 and liked it a lot. I used the pure drive on and off for the past 2 years or so and liked it, but when the new graphenes came out I had to demo them. I tried both the speed pro and mp and liked them both very much. I loved the easy power and spin from the mp but I found it was lacking some control and found my shots going long on occasion. The speed pro was just plain awesome. Perfect amount of power and control. Also for a 18/20 string pattern, one of the most spin friendly ones out there. So I switched to the speed pro around a month or so ago and haven't looked back. Great racquet.

If you're using the ig speed 315 16/19 I suggest you try the the graphene spped mp. Newer models of racquets normally don't make a big difference but this one definitely did. I like how it's back to the normal 27in length as opposed to the 27.2. I felt the mp was more stable, as well as having more power and access to spin. There was maybe a slight loss in control, but I'm sure you can get used to it, after trying it out for a while.

+2. Team10 you are absolutely right. I love extra length racquets but when I place the 27.2 next to the gs pro they are almost the exact length. But with the gs pro control and decent power, plus with the spin from the black widow strings I found a great combination. I played two sets with my 27.2 and then another two sets with the gs pro, and shots that were flying long with the 27.2 were dropping near the baseline with the gs pro. Now, I have my friends demo-ing the gs pro. Great racquet, as you put it.

Graphene made the entire Speed lineup a lot more powerful but also stiffer something to keep in mind.

The Graphene Speed Pro is a really good racquet offering good control, power, and spin production. The Graphene Speed MP definitely feels better than the IG version offering more power and stability as well.

Thanks all

The problem that I have with the gs pro is the 18/20 string pattern. I have 1 ig speed 18/20 aswell as 3 16/19 . Every now and then I hit with the 18/20 and it gives me a bit more soreness in the arm and shoulder. To me though it lacks some pop and spin.

I play with Msv focus hex 17L mains @ 53# and prince lightning Xx spin crosses @ 57#
Currently I am sampleing the same setup substituting with solinco tour bite soft 17 mains and will likely make the permanent switch.

I used to play the 315 and recently tried out the new Graphene MP and they are completely different racquets. The 315 is more demanding...smaller sweetspot, lower power and heavier. The new MP is quite nice and much more forgiving. Here is what I posted about it in another thread...

"Was pretty impressed. Nice solid feeling racquet with a perfect blend of power and control. Good all around the court...baseline groundies and up at the net. You can swing out pretty agressively without fear of hitting long. I cannot be as lazy as I can with my V1, but that's not a bad thing really. Also the sweet spot is slightly smaller and I did have a few "deadspot" misses, but overall it's only a little demanding. Nice middle ground between player and tweener racquet. With full multi this one would be fairly powerful, and with full poly it will provide lots of spin and control. I opted for a multi/poly hybrid at 54/51. Racquet plays similar to the Dunlop M 3.0 but with a bit more pop and spin."
