Which of the following racquets is best suited to an intermediate player? And which is the hardest to use for an intermediate player?

Wilson nSix-One 95
Wilson nTour Two nCode 95
Prince Triple Threat Warrior Midplus
Prince Tour NXG Midplus
Prince Graphite Longbody
Yonex RDX 500 MidPlus
Yonex RDS 001 MidPlus
Yonex RQ iS 2 Tour
Babolat Pure Drive Oversize

Thanks all:)

It'd really help if you described your game more. To me, here's the easiest to play with to the hardest:
Babolat PD OS
Wilson nTour2
Yonex RQiS2 Tour
Prince TT Warrior MP
Yonex RDX 500 MP
Yonex RDS001 MP
Prince NXG Tour MP
Wilson n6-195
Prince Graphite Longbody

As to which is best suited to an intermediate player, well, that depends on your style

Prince Tour NXG Midplus
Prince Graphite Longbody
Yonex RDX 500 MidPlus
Yonex RDS 001 MidPlus
Yonex RQ iS 2 Tour
Babolat Pure Drive Oversize

The ones that are underlined are all pretty much player's racquets, though it's a bit hard to classify what is hard for a player to use...

Thanks

I have a defensive baseline game, not an aggresser but like to take the ball early whenever I can, don't usually go to the net unless necessary. Serve is my weak area so I need a racquet that will give me the extra oomph. I can handle a racquet of 325 swing weight for up to 3 hours without getting a sore arm.

Why do you say Longbody is the hardest to use in that group?

And why is nTour2 easier to play with than RQiS2? Ist because of the lower swingweight?

NTour2 is great for ground strokes. Has a lot of power as well. You can get some added control with a poly or poly hybrid.

IMHO NTour played better than the NTour2 and they cost only 69$.

I would recommend an Aeropro Drive with Cortex if you love spinning from the baseline and want a decent serve or if you only care about serve the Pure Drive.

Kind of a tough call because I'm of the impression that racquets fit individuals sort of like a pair of shoes. You never really know how something matches what you want until you "try it on", so we're always recommending the whole demo thing... At least I am.

From what I've tried and what you sound like you're looking for, I like the looks of the Wilson nSix-One and the Yonex RDS 001 from your list. I think that they offer overall perfomance along with the "oomph" that you want to access for some of your game. If you eventually take more trips to net, both of those can pop a good volley, too.

Unless you have a frame that's just too darn lively for you no matter what you do with it, I'd only consider putting poly in it as a last ditch effort to save you from another racquet search. Pros and heavy hitters look to that string to get some control, but if you're looking for more pop, I don't think the stuff would be any help for your development.

Thanks fuzz nation. Always insightful suggestions.

How would you rate these racquets from my list, maybe in the order of skill levels suitable?

If you are spending a lot of time on defense, you may want a little more pop than most of these sticks offer.

The Warrior, for example, is pretty much made for the net, and it is not going to give you much help on the serve. Not to say you can't play the baseline with it, but there are better choices.

The way you describe your game says "players oversize" to me.

I vote for NXG OS. It lands in the same price range, and is an awesome hit from the baseline. It will help you when you are a little late, and will give you some pop on the serve.

That is an interesting thought. But NXG OS is not light at 11.9oz and 328 SW. What other "players oversize" can you get nowadays?

Hey, sorry there - I just spotted your follow-up. Tough for me to rate racquets since I've enjoyed heavier ones for a long time, but some real killers I've seen at the courts play with anything from war clubs to fly swatters (not that it's all about weight). There seems to be no predicting a successful pairing of a player to a racquet until the test run happens. "Feel" is that subjective variable in our brains that often needs to be right for a racquet to be a keeper.

Don't mean to wimp out on you, but I really think that just about any frame out there could find a happy home among the intermediate ranks.
