High School Tennis

My son 14 just started in High School and plans to tryout for the tennis team in January... At one time prior to 3 years ago , most likely trying out for the high school tennis team would have been a lower priority since 3 years ago my son was highly ranked in Florida and Texas (live there a a year) and also played well in a couple national events.. but due to a few reasons he stopped playing at 11 yrs old, now at 14 he has asked me to train him again and he wants to give it a good shot at making the team in January, I have been practicing with him 6 days a week for the last month and we will continue to practice and try some lower level tournaments starting in October. I did ask the high school tennis coach if when i pick him up from school if i could use the HS courts but was told no due to liability issues, (i have a flex schedule at work and i can pick him up almost everyday) .......hope everyone enjoys the US Open , it was nice seeing rafa play well last night... thanks for listening everyone and good luck with your tennis , we have a great informative site with great members , tennis warehouse has excellent customer service ... did i have a point to this post ..well no just happy my son is playing our game again lol... :)

I used to play with the top 2's of Washington High, MissionHigh, and Lowell High schools, back in the '70's. San Francisco.
Now, I still play with high school single's top players, but might have trouble staying even with a freshman girl who was ranked No.2 in NorCal 12's two years ago. She play's the ONE.
Couple kids I know play 4 and 1st doubles, one kid 6'6" tall (the 2 singles), and his little brother.
For a junior to play top 2 singles, he or she would have to be better than most 4.0 men, and able to hit with any 4.5 man.

if this is a public school you should be able to use the courts
yes i thought the same, not sure if its really the coach does not want a parent of one of the players coaching on the high school courts, not sure but ill leave it alone ..
