how do you stop this?

How can you stop this from happening? I've played with these shoes two weeks and already have a big hole in them, and it's not just these shoes, it's any pair of shoes I've ever had

You slide a lot right? This happens to me too but its because I slide a lot on hardcourts. I'd imagine there is no way to stop this unless you stop sliding...which I why I try to limit myself in practice.

I would try a thinner synthetic sock, and also tighten your laces more on near the toes. It look like part of your foot must be protruding and rubbing a hole in your shoes. Maybe try a more mesh upper shoe, like the vapor 9.5 or Asics gel res5/6, both have great ventilation and strong uppers that stretch a bit.

Yeah, I don't know how to stop it just kind of happens. But maybe there is a shoe where it takes longer than a few days for the hole to appear?

Thanks, but yeah the vapor's don't do well for me either....

Do you have some kind of bone sticking up on your foot? Have you tried the Thorlo synthetic "Slippery" socks, they really move and might help. I would try the Asics gel res 5 then, their shape on top has a stretchable mesh, and I've been using them the past year with rave reviews.

Not anything abnormal that I know of. I haven't tried those but I might if I have to thank thank you, I'll look at those. It's just that I think I scrape or drag my foot on the ground when I slide and end up Tearing a hole in my shoe

Here's a pic of the upper of the Asics Gel Res 5

They feel fantastic and are indeed quite stretchy and comfortable, give them a try!

Im going to tell you right now to skip these. Poster is right, ridiculously comfortable shoes with durable outsole, but that side. The side cannot hang on for more than a week, tore mine in two outings lasting six hours. Least durable sides ive ever had, and i feel your pain. Tie laces tighter and settle on a shoe with a beefy side, like a barricade 8 or zoom cage 2 (my shoe of choice right now, couldnt even put a hole in it even if i shot it with a fifty cal. from point blank)

This happens to me as well as I slide a ton but I have learned to push my toe/edge of the out-sole into the ground while I slide rather than completely lean on the side of the shoe. Sometimes I can't help it, but it happens a lot less now that I am conscious of it after a few burns through the sock all the way to the foot.

Also, a serious slide will put a hole into any shoe. I have slid 10 feet before on hard courts at full sprint and you can actually smell the burnt rubber. I have put a hole into Barricade 8s, 8+s, 2015s, and Rush Pros. Only shoe that held up fairly well is the Rush Pro 2.0 actually.

Try your hand with the cage 2

OP, since you know the exact spot where you will wear out each shoe, buy a tube of Shoe Goo and build up that spot on the next new pair, before you even wear them the first time. Apply more as you wear through it on the courts.

Shoe Goo is really meant for the soles, so this isn't going to be a great look, but at least you'll have a chance of wearing through the soles before the upper gives out.

nothing. if you drag the side of your shoe it will burn. you can add your own tear away pads using a two part epoxy..or straight up epoxy..will mark up courts though.. if it is a public course no one will freak out.. indoors and they will ask you to not come back.

You must be dragging the rear foot during a slide. As long as you keep doing that often you'll burn holes in your shoes.

Do you have any reason why you have to slide so much when you're playing? Is it because you get to every ball like Djokovic or Monfils or are you sliding because you have poor anticipation?

Even better would be to somehow attach a hard piece of plastic on the shoe at that point so it has less grip on the court and doesn't wear much. Sort of like the hard plastic that motorcycle riders have on the knee pads.
