How many tournament points counts in USTA

I am just confused, how many points are calculated in the actual point race.

For instance. This month i won two USTA championships ( these are sanctioned NTRP championships) and i should have got 300 points from this. BUt in the rankings page it is writtedn " This Event Points: 150(Does not count towards total points)" .

Don't USTA counts all the tournament wins..
Some one told me that USTA will take into consideration the best 4 torunament wins into account when they consider the rankings

If that's the case what is the benefit of playing this tournaments which are quite expensive and winning ?

I am just confused now

I know in Texas it's the top 5 results. And by results it means point totals ie winning a 100pt tournament doesn't count vs the semis in a 400 pt tournament. As for the benefit of playing more tournaments, it all depends on how much tennis you're willing to pay for. I've seen guys who are in the top 8 in the rankings who only play 5 big point tournaments (400 or higher), and nothing else.

Thanks.. so i think i should not play tournaments left and right.. since winning that doesn't do anything good if that points doesn't count right.
I won two tournaments last month.. but that 300 points is not even counted.. in the total points..

I'm fairly certain that in my area, Mid-Atlantic, tournaments (whether they are sanctioned or not) don't count for anything. Doesn't matter if your #1 or #200.

I still play a lot of tournaments though. I play because I enjoy the competition. I feel like I experience greater competition in tournaments than I do in league matches.

With league matches, I play all the same people that I've been playing with for years. But in tournaments, I play people that are from different counties and sometimes different states.

totally agree with u.
Playing tournaments improved my game great deal.
plus since i played 12 plus tournaments in the last 11 months.. that tournament pressure is off from my head.
winning the points and climbing the ladder in terms of rankings are a motivation

In Texas I think the top 5 is for singles. For doubles they only count the top 4.

I think mid atlantic it is 4 tournaments?

So what will happen if we win more tournaments... they won't count that at all ?
for eg: if one person wins three 400 points, and six 150 points tournaments.. they might count three 400 points which 1200 points and only one 150 point... the remaining wins willl not be accounted in terms of rankings right

The way I understand it, that would be correct.
