How much can my UTR go up in 2 years?

I am a sophemore in High School and at the moment I am a low 3 UTR. For the college I would like to go to, I would have to be about a mid-high 5 to make the roster, and a mid 6 to be safe. Is it possible to grow this much in 2 years? Thanks.

It’s possible. Practice and keep playing against strong players. I will say 5-6 UTR sounds low to me for college team. Many of the UNC and Duke players around here are 8-10. I’m rated as a 6 UTR and compete normally in 4.0 USTA leagues and tournaments and get destroyed by most of the college guys around here. They are D1 though.

Work hard and you’ll easily get to 5-6.
+1
to add, get a coach, train daily 2-4h (especially serve)
don't mindlessly hit, be precise on what you're trying to improve...
focus on technique (full complete swing) and control (depth&accuracy), and receiving pace/spin, less on trying to send it with pace/spin..
and get fit... example metric: run a sub 6min mile (<5min is d1 level fitness)

Could you expand more on this?
I know you didn’t ask but I teach my students to Learn to get yourself in correct position with proper footwork and spacing so you can hit with pace with lower effort vs trying to create all of the pace hitting the ball on the way down. Learn to take the ball early on groundstrokes and serve returns. There are many ways to win in tennis.

You’ll face a lot of people who can blast the ball. These are good players. The great players can absorb the pace and impart control through full strokes to take control of points. Example, Fed v Roddick (in my opinion)
It’s important to have a full stroke because you need to impart your own pace and spin to counter theirs. If you just bunt the ball back you won’t have control nor pace, pushing. Then, any player at your goal will be able to boss you around.

Obviously you have to play matches in addition to what everyone has already said. Do you have a lot of UTR tournaments in your area ?

Can u give an example?
To simply say it it doesn't go up when it should or it doesn't go up as much as it should. I'm a 2.70 (S) and a 2.93 (D) but I believe that for singles I am more around the 3.40-ish area. Even though I've beat people around that level my UTR remains the same. I could just not be understanding the system but it's quite frustrating.

Your best bet is to play a lot of junior tournaments then you will see movement on the UTR front. Just playing a few high school matches here and there isn't going to work.
