I'm from the UK, and I know very little about WWE.

The performative combination of sport and entertainment just seems alien to me.

I don't have any antipathy towards it, it's just that the concept doesn't personally vibe with me.

I do confess that wrestling produces some solid GIFs and meme templates.

Grew up watching wrestling, then lost interest. My favorite era was the 80's WWF.
Sergeant Slaughter, the Iron Sheik, Macho Man, the Honky Tonk Man, Greg "the Hammer" Valentine, the Bushwhackers, etc, etc, etc. :)

I do like to look at YouTube videos of those 80's wrestlers giving interviews on all the locker room drama, drugs, women, bar room fights. Those guys loved the sport. They rarely got days off, always traveling...mostly by car. And yeah, those guys were really tough in real life. No taking days off for mental health.

Yes, they were truly hard af back then. The lifestyle was insane. I love hearing Nash talk about it especially even though he's 90's stuff was still insane.

Yep, Rikishi is related to Yokozuna and took on his style as a tribute after Yoko died. Now Rikishi's twin sons The Usos wrestle as a tag team :D

Did you know Rikishi's 16 year old niece was mudered on in San Francisco a few days back, they got 50 grand out on whoever can find the people who did it.

It's tonight actually o_O if Chris loses he says he'll never wrestle again. If he does hang it up, what a career it's been. WCW Chris will always be my fav tho.
