How to make Davis Cup more attractive

I read an interview of Francesco Ricci Bitti candidating for being the new ITF chairman/president.

The title of the interview (french newspaper) was "How to make the Davis Cup more attractive", and at the bottom of the article, there were the proposals of every candidate. Here they are :

Dave Haggerty (USA, former US Open president and chairman of the USTA) : final-height (as in final-four but with 8 teams, sry for the translation) every year, same period of the year, same place, same surface.

Juan Margets (Spain, ITF vice-chairman) : creating o world cup with Davis Cup and Fed Cup finalsin a same neutral place, at the same time ; 16 nations in Fed Cup ; tie-break in 5th set.

Anil Khanna (India, asiatic federation chairman) : creating, in addition of the Davis Cup, the ITF World Championship, a new event lasting two weeks. Changing Davis cup rules (but didn't say how)

Francesco Ricci Bitti (summurazing the content of the main interview) : 2 rounds of Davis Cup every year, not four. Thus the competition is spread among two years. Combined finals (Fed Cup/Davis Cup) in a neutral place. Tie breaker in 5th set. No-Ad has to be discussed. 4 games per set is very unlikely to happen it would change the game too much.

I'm curious to hear what you guys think about these proposals. Do you even think something has to change regarding Davis Cup ?

I'd love to merge Fed Cup & Davis Cup tbh, maybe with mixed doubles or something like that. If it comes to elect the best nation in tennis, having both men and women play sounds great to me.

I love the advantage system and want to keep it. I love best of 5s too, wouldn't trade it for best of 3. Re. the 5th set tie breaker, I think having no tie-breaker contributes to the legend of tennis (Mahut-Isner... was ridiculous) but that doesn't bother me that much.

I'd love to see more ATP points distributed to Davis Cup, so that players stop complaining everytime they have to play in this "tournament". I love the idea of a Davis Cup hosted in one country, like World Cups or Olympics, involving different cities of the country, maybe spread on one week or so. I love watching world cup on TV and the shows showing where this city is in the country, cultural documentary, history of the city, ...

What do you think, guys ?

Getting the Sweet Sixteen in one place sounds like a good idea. Shouldn't be too hard. The tour runs like that the whole year.

Which period of the year would you choose for such an event ?

After the masters, in december ? That maybe sounds bad, players will be tired.

Then maybe filling the gaps in the calendar ? February ? ? End september / Early october ?

I wish I never hear or read the phrase 'no ad scoring' ever again. It's the dumbest idea I've ever heard and will never happen. It pisses me off so much when people bang on about it.
