HYBRED STRING JOB-1PKGS = 2 JOBS?

:twisted: I am really thiniking about using the Klip-hybred poly/gut combo = 1 job. If I were to buy 1 poly & 1 gut pkgs. could I get 2 string jobs out of it? I know the hybred like Problend 1 pkg = 1 job but can the stringer only use 20' and then reuse 20' for another job?

In most cases, you'll get 2 string jobs from 2 packs. A couple of exceptions would be the Prince TT Ring (24' for the mains!) and the Wilson 3.3 Super snowshoe.

For most racquets, 2 sets of strings will be enough for two hybrid stringjobs. On some of the VERY VERY oversized frames, it may not be enough. What I do is prestretch the string, by looping it around a pole in my basement, and bringing the two ends together. Once I pull it for a few moments, I cut the string at the point it touches the poll, to split it in two equal pieces. It gives me enough to do the mains, plus 4 or so feet (2 on each side), and enough to do the crosses, with about 5-6 feet left.

Depending on your racquet size and string pattern, as well as your machine. 20' should be enough for 95-98 sqr in. with 16 mains, but probably not for 18 mains. A racquet smaller than 95 sqr in. should use less than 20' for main regardless of # of mains. Only OS racquet that definitely use less than 20' is POG OS.

I use a Prince Thunderstrike OS 110" That puts me out of reach for 2 jobs w/ 2 (40') pkgs? Thanks for your quick responces.

Me again. I just checked the Stringer's Digest. If you own a Thunderstrike Long Body, you will need 20' for the mains. If it's the standard OS, then you need 19' for the mains.

Also, the LB is 16X20 but the standard is 16X19.

Klip makes some hybrids already packaged up. One of the best is Adrenalin, you may want to give it a try.

Yes the Klip Adreneline is the one I'm considering-have you tried it. Currently my poly last 2wks. I'm a pwr player but my string bed is too wide for any combo of durability + playability. I'm thinking of buying a string machine in nexy 2 mos. so I'm going to be trying quite a variety of strings

Also, many times you'll have enough string for the racquet, but not enough to reach the tensioning head (esp. if it's a a rotating drum). I have scrap pieces of string for these occasions. I'll use a pair of locking pliers or something (starting clamp or extra clamp would work great) to hold the two strings together, then tension the string in the racquet by tensioning the extra piece of string. I have a rotating drum head though, and you need about a foot and 3 or 4 inches of string beyond the frame to tension. Whenever I run short, it's only by an inch or two, so I use my tensioning trick, and then still have plenty of string left to make normal tie offs
