I am running a tennis league (around 200 active players) in my city.

I have a web site, and obviously i need local organizers for making contact with local players.

Anyone interested? :)

yeah... tried it... just too hard going from one random city to other...
and definitely need enthusiast partner to spread the word locally

so how does your organization solve the common problem of other leagues/ladders:
* flakes (latenes, noshows, etc..)
* matching the correct levels (ie. avoid 3.5 playing up and saying they are a 5.0)
* cheaters, or generall folks that are unpleasant to play with (post match rating system?)

what's the benefit to the partner?

flakes - players report problems, and if a person has multiple reports it gets suspented
matching the correct levels - after one round (usually a month) if you are good you advance a league, or if you are "bad" you drop. Of course, this works much better when you have a big crowd, and initial setup will be aproximate.
cheaters - players report problems, and if a person has multiple reports it gets suspented. It's "easy" to spot a person who has constantly "problems"

Partner - well, i am in different part of the world, so i need a person who can talk and geather players. Online posibilities are great, but still limited. It's always better experience to meet a real person, organizer.

what's the benefit to partnering *with you* in this endeavor?

besides meeting new people, building a tennis community, and playing regular competition with players of same skill, you as partner organizer can introduce monthly fee for players.
I'm sure every city needs something like this.

a monthly fee on top of the fee to use your website?

Plan is to go for test period for free to see if it will work and to gather players,
then we can arrange league fee and arrange split it between partner local organizer (you) and web site owner (me).

I think what nytennisaddict is asking is what do you specifically bring to the table?
Meaning, if I wanted to organize a tennis league in my area, what's the benefit of doing it with you vs on my own?
Hard to say without knowing the capabilities of your web site and understanding what you will be doing to administer the league vs what you would expect the local partner to do.

I bring a web site + experience in running such league + proof it works (200 players in my city)
here is demo site:
http://en.tenisliga.com/

Of course, if you have your own web, or you are satisfied with league you play right now, you don't need me, but i didn't find any tennis league so successful.

I'm looking for any league that actually works,
clicking on any league, it looks like a lot of "test leagues" that no one really plays
http://tennisengine.com/viewleg.asp

Do you know anyone who actually plays it? How do players like it? Do you have a link to league where players are active?

In my league, each month there are more than 300 matches played, players are motivated for each match (groups of 5, first advances, last drops)

so how/why does yours actually work?
when i was running leagues on that tennisengine.. it worked, because i actively promoting it, setting up matches, etc...
does your website magically get people motivated? or is the organizer?

this is not "Field of Dreams"... "If you build it they will come..."

Well, my guess is "all of above"
That's why i need local organizer, to actually play and motivate players.
Once you reach a certain stage, players are used to discipline, and it goes by itself.

So, i am not setting up matches, players are responsible for contacting each other (home/away system makes "away" player get the points if at the end of month there was no report why match was not played)

If you are in league of 10 players, you win 3, and lose 3, what is you motivation?
That's why i have 5 players/per group, every match counts as I said.
Player enters score, sees his stats immediately.
You have a player profile page, with your pic, latest scores, basic stats, and contact info.
You have a calendar, so you can add you future match, maybe someone will come to watch and drink a beer after.

It's a website dedicated to players wanting to play and compete, and fulfill their needs. (we also have links for online booking courts)

Why did your league stop?
No one to setup matches for them? That's crazy, they are all perfectly capable of making arrangements on they own.
All you have to do is keep track who's playing next month, and who is taking a break, and setup next month's groups (software does it for you)

Where I live there are weekly leagues through clubs, USTA League Teams, and also a park/school based league.

How's this any different from a club league or park league? What's the incentive? What do you offer that people can't do on their own already?

With the options currently out there, there is no reason for me to want to try and start a new league or think that I would have much success. You are basically asking people to sign up to your website, pay a fee, and then self maintain and self regulate everything.

Well, again, my guess is people like if it all has sense.
Show me one good web for tennis league. Or park league. Where people play, have stats, advance if they win...
Do you play any? Are you happy with what they offer?
If you play park league, no one is keeping your stats, you are not promoted if you are playing well, and you are matched with random players. Here you are matched with players of your skill.

They are not "maintaining and self regulating everything", they just have to call opponent and ask: When/where do you want to play? And report a score.
Administrator sets up a monthly schedule and posts news.

If a player doesn't see purpose in all this, and just want to play random match in park, of course he won't join.

Have you heard of the USTA? http://tennislink.usta.com/Dashboard/Main/
They also have regional sites as well.

You keep saying the same stuff over and over again, but it doesn't really seem like you have a good model in place. From the way you described your league, its a self regulated and self maintained version of the USTA with less structure. Why would people want to go through the hassle when there's already an established model that the majority play in already?

I also keep asking same questions, but you fail to answer :)

You have to be in the league to go to it.

Here's a link to Norcal 5.0 leagues:
https://www.ustanorcal.com/listteams.asp?leagueid=1944

I play in USTA 4.5 and 5.0 leagues. I am happy with what they offer.

I don't think you are understanding that your current model has no value for one to want to partner with you.

It's probably a good site when you know what and where to look, for me it's totally confusing...
Looks like semi-pro site, mine is more recreational, community oriented friendly site.

Thanx for your time, and information, you did make some things clearer for me.

WOW, that's what I am talking about! It looks great.
I couldn't find a link to any exact league playing right now, to see how many players, what is percentage of played matches, player stats and so on...

Only list of leagues to join in.
Maybe first you have to join, and then all info is visible?

Yes. Why challenge an existing situation?
Because that is how change comes about?

I hope OP comes with a better model as he works it out, and becomes a USTA challenger.

It is not a responsive design.
That is not a good sign.

I'm confused. The site you linked says,

Scorting

You get 3 pts for winning and 1 pt for loosing a match. 0 pts if match is not played.

So which is it? Also if you are serious about this I'd have someone who is fluent in English scour your site for spelling/grammar before you try and solicit partners.

I haven't ever played in this league, but somehow I get solicitations for it occasionally. It has seasonal leagues at different levels, tournaments, results posted on-line, awards, etc. Seems like what you are looking for, no?
