I don't like the Babolat Propulse 3

They look very cool, stylish, but they wear our fast, got the hole in sole in two months. They are stiff behind the achilles and gave me pain back there. I like the look but they are not as comfortable or as durable as hoped. Nike Court Ballistec 2.3 remains the best shoe I've ever worn for tennis, so comfortable and soft inside on your feet.

I do think they are worth the high price as they do have the 6 mth warrantly. Except for that rigid feeling around the ankle and achilles in the back, in the front and sides and bottom of foot hey are pretty comfy. I'm getting my replacement pair, will give them another shot this time on clay.

It's all about personal fit as I absolutely LOVE the Propulse 3 and have two pairs of them. No pain in the back of the ankle. The CB's and Barricades wrecked my feet making me question their popularity, but I know everyone's feet are different.

I'm a "new" player to actually playing competitively, but I got mine in August, played 3ish times a week on them, and they're great for me. Adidas and Nike didnt fit my foot in the store.

I've got the replacement pair of Propulse 3s will try then again, they have kind of cheap feel and look to them, they wear out too fast.

Propulse 3s are great shoes except forefoot cushioning needs to be improved. They work really well for those with wide feet.

The Nike CB 2.3s were great pair of shoes for cushioning and lateral support.

Exactly!!!! I'm so glad I found someone else whose ankles hated the propulse 3. Absolutely not worth the price and not a match for the quality of Prince shoes. It beats me how that many people love them and are so defensive of them.

I get pain in the ankle/Achilles are after I've played 2-3 hours of hard play. They were a definite improvement over the Propulse 2, especially since I have a wider foot. Cushion wise its pretty good for a performance/low to the ground shoe, but I definitely feel my feet are beat up after a tough match of singles or multiple doubles sets.

What I do like about it is that my feet feel so "locked in" that I don't even have to worry about tripping or rolling an ankle wearing these. I suffer from plantar faciitis and the PP3's definitely help with the needed support. I just have to make sure the ankle strap isn't fastened too tightly.

I would recommend these shoes but personally I should have spent the money on the Asics Resolutions. I just wanted to try something different. Both shoes lasted 2 1/2 months before both were showing the insole.

you don't get this pain with other shoes?
i get a bit of sore ankle when using Barricades,
and i wonder if other shoes might prevent that (without compromising stability)

Actually no I don't...other than the Pro Pulse 2's. I just figured it was the price I had to pay for having that "locked in" feeling while on the court lol. I've used various shoes from all the barricades up to 5 (b6 & 7's were too narrow and stiff), Asics Resolutions 2 & 3 were great just didn't last as long, all Reebok Match Day Pump iterations, and various Wilson shoes as well and none gave me the ankle/achilles pain...some did however, give me other pains in different parts of me feet lol so I guess its a trade off. So far for me the best shoes overall were the heavy arse Match Day Pumps and Asics Gel Resolutions. I think I'll try the Kswiss Big Shots next.

thanks for the info.

Everyone's feet are so subjective, everyone needs to try them out to see how they fit. The Propulse 3s have the best traction of all shoes I have tried including Nike and Asics. It just stops on the dime due to those Micheline treads which of course doesn't last that long.

The straps are great to lock in your feet but again, my only complaint is the poor forefoot cushioning. My feet would feel sore after more than 2 hours on the court.
