I don't want to overstate, but Gut/Poly will cure all your life problems.

My old Prince stringer finally bit the dust last week. Had to take my Wilson Prostaff 97's to the store to get them strung. I supplied the Klip Legend NG and Wilson Revolve and they charged me $27.50 per racket for the stringing. Might see about finding someone local that does stringing. Can probably beat that price. I string mine at 60/57.

You totally need an 18x20 frame.
I need open pattern for extra spin. Don't like the feel of closed pattern...
I love the spin and control (and massive comfort) of my PP100.
And I love my hybrid X-perience 1.18/Pro's Pro Synthetic 1.30. :alien:
Everything is OK for me now. I can play my best tennis and win some hard matches in tournaments!! Love it so much!!! :p

Try Wilson Revolve (not spin) as a cross. I have been impressed with the longevity (combined w Lux 1.25 gut in mains)
I have access to a Babolat RDC, a Stringlab2 or a JET tension Analyzer to check string bed tension. I have seen minimal changes since the initial 5% drop. Currently down just 7 or 8%
Gut/poly is much more $$ the I used to spend. Plus I actually enjoy stringing my racquet. But the consistent string bed over 20 plus hours does seem to be having a positive effect on my game (comparing gut/poly to "poor man's champion's choice" of an inexpensive ($2.75/string job) syn gut poly hybrid ).

Getting 8-10hrs fairly consistent out of Klip/ Max Power and VS Touch/4g but with either set up I am playing with something completely different than what I started after 3hrs. Solution: play with inexpensive poly with good tension maintenance and cut it out after the tension drop off at 3-5hrs.

I didn't ... but only tried it once. I started playing matches Spring 2017 after 8 months off from TE. I had identical V1 Pros freshly strung ... one fb velocity @55 and one tonic/cream 55/50. I intended for the tonic/cream to be my match racquet setup. I started with it, had issues with control, grabbed the fb V and instantly had control. In fairness, gut @60 might have helped, and my timing was not great because of so much time off. But ... I came away thinking for my game, gut/poly gave me better spin at the cost of control. Also ... gut is expensive to test a lot of hybrid tensions.
i hope it dont..but that poly may start up your TE again.....if you use poly...check out Polyfibre strings....very soft..

Exactly. And with sgut cross if more comfort needed.
What cheap poly with "good" tension maintenance are you thinking about?

You only think you do. I get more spin and heavier ball with my Phantom 93p than my 100 because I can swing more freely with it. That extra RHS gives me all the extra spin I need.

If I was a big string breaker, I’d learn to play with 18x20’s. Cost savings alone would pay for more lessons to learn how not to depend on just spinning balls.

After a few more outings I still have trouble controlling the power of the Gut/Poly. Going back to full poly.

Gut/Poly i struggled with tension loss when i tried it a while back in 2018

That’s what I am experiencing. Been playing with it for 5+ years. 3hrs of magic and 6-7hrs more of decent play. Easy on the arm through out the life of the string bed is the best characteristic.

Full Luxilon Gut gives pretty good spin, you should try that out.

As much as I like Gut/poly, stringing my frames at $4.00 a frame with full poly is hard to beat especially when I don’t seem to play significantly better with Gut/poly. Haven’t cared for full bed gut the times I have put in my frames over the years.

Do you string yourself?
