I think the Blades that pro uses are not the retail Blades...

Hi, people.

Yesterday, I was watching the Miami Open and i was looking at Raonic's Blade. I think his frame is not a retail Blade. The Blade's handle is one of the shortest handle in the market and i think Raonic's handle is long. And the throat of this racket is long too, almost looked like a Prestige throat.

I saw the Monfils's racket too and it is as identical as Raonic. So, people, are those racquets the famous H19 or H22 you are talking about? Are there any pros using retail Blades?

Thanks.

And the nBlade or KBlade has a longer handle? I don't remember either...

Not sure. I have a kBlade98 here and an nBlade should be here in a few days and I can compare.

The H19 is very close to the Prestige, a stab at the PT57A. Monfils uses the H19.
The H22 is more common on the tour and is a 22mm beam, supposed to attract the Radical users. Some users are Djokovic (before 2009, while with Wilson, very low flex), Gulbis, Matthieu ( have 2 of his in Steam PJ), etc.

Not sure but i think Raonic is using a pro stock k blade. It's essentially the same as the retail k blade but in a flexier layup. If you see pics of his racquet at the hoop, it still has the round edges of the retail blade (H22's have squared edges).

Raonic is using p25 from what I remember

Can't remember if that's kblade pro stock code or nblade

From what I have read, the p25 is a nblade pro stock. Some say he uses the p25 some say he uses the kblade pro stock. I'm not too sure.

According to experts on here, the Blades the pros are using are nowhere near a retail Blade, and have absolutely no common characteristic to a retail racquet, and that they don't even resemble a retail shape at all. They are completely different in shape, layup, beam width, etc.

I made a comment about the Blades at least looking like the Blade shape, instead of Djokovic's and Murray's looking very different. I was seriously scolded for such a "limited, ignorant, and short sighted remark." So be careful and realize that there are only some posters who have all the knowledge and super pro-stock detection skills about these exceedingly mysterious and alien racquets. :)

And some of them are/have been stringers who've had their hands on them as well.

We all know that. My original point was that they look similar to a Blade. Just like the APD Rafa uses looks similar. Murray's racquet looks nowhere near a G Rad Pro. Why is that so wrong to say?

Huh? I was just adding to someone else's comments about there being some folks here with more insider knowledge.

I had no judgements on anything you said.

The pros have their own design and production departments, which have completely different objectives to the retail devisions. Only the paint and graphics are the same.

wah, it would be a big treat to TT users to have a tour in their pro stock department..... or it will never happen

Nahhh! Are you kidding me?! There's no way, all those racquets they use are retail versions!!!

From a very reliable source who had handled many of raonic's racquets:
His racquets are the pro stock blades, basically the nblade with various newer version paint jobs. These pro stocks differ more on composition and a flexier head, but very little apparence differences comparing to the retail blade, it had almost the same string holes (still differs very slightly when compared side by side) therefore the grommets can be replaced. There are very few pros using this version of blade, and as far as he knows, only raonic and frank dancevic use this version and there are very few out there
The p25 is an entirely different mold than the pro stock blade, that's what I was told.

Hope this helps cleaning up a few things :)

Would you like to clean it up a little more and tell me what mold the p25 is? If its the pro stock blades that are based on nblade?

The h22 was based off of old Radicals. It was designed specifically to pull pros from HEAD rackets. the nBlade was the *consumer* result

To add to this it was an old 18*20 blade as they were painted matte last year which was NOT retail. Still 18*20 just maybe an old version or a special weight/balance layup

According to experts and pro stringers on here it's a stock Blade 18x20. I argued that it had to be modified, but they said no, it was completely stock. I will have to find the thread.
