If Medvedev beats Djoker at a HC slam again?

What are the chances that he will get in Djokers head? Do you think he will end up with positive HC slam h2h?

Why would it matter? Djokovic will end his career with 20+ slams, Med will likely end his with <5. Even if the H2H ends up being 50-4 for Med, he's 9 years younger and he should have a lopsided H2H. The important thing are their career stats, and Med will never come remotely close to what Djokovic has done. The disparity in their careers will be staggering.

Medvedev is a pusher who has big serve. He was exposed by Dimitrov recently so let's not assume he will meet Djokovic in slam soon.

He probably won’t play Novak much at all. 1 and 2 seeds only meet in the finals at tournaments and I don’t see Medvedev making a Rome, RG, or Wimbledon final any time soon. Do you?

So HC events are the only real venue.

but most importantly if and when he does beat Novak consistently it’ll be because he’s in his legs, not his head. I really don’t think Medvedev does anything that Djokovic isn’t prepared for.

Yup, book's out on him. Don't need to know anything else.

Novak should be pretty embarrassed he couldn't figure that out. Says a lot about what a fraud he must be.
Novak was under severe pressure for the CYGS and mentally and physically exhausted at the end of the season. You can't expect him to work out the correct tactics in that situation.

Yes Novak's typically been one to cave under pressure. Probably what he's known for best. Either that or his lack of physical stamina. Can't decide which he's more well known for.

But hey, what can you expect when he's only played him (checks notes)...8 times before that final. That's just not enough time to figure out slicing is a good tactic.

Djokovic is great under pressure and has the best physical stamina of anyone, but even he has a limit to what he can handle. This was just too much even for him.

He never needed to use slice because his baseline game is good enough to beat Medvedev under normal circumstances. But this wasn't normal circumstances, this was at the end of the season, going for the CYGS. You could see Djokovic trying to shorten points and come into the net more. If he wasn't under so much pressure and mental tiredness, he would have figured out the perfect tactics.

Indian Wells is much slower than either the AO or USO especially in the last few years. Don’t draw any conclusions from IW on how someone will do in hard court Slams.

Medvedev can be exposed on a slow court like clay or IW, but it doesn’t mean he is not going to win a lot in Australia, USO swing or the Fall indoor season.

I don't think it's possible to be in Novak's head.

Even when Stan had his number for a while there it was simply him outplaying Novak, not like he got tight and was 2nd guessing himself against the Stanimal.
USO 2016 was kinda a choke from Novak tbh but other than that I agree

Cannot agree. Djokovic should be winnig a major final v Mededev. Zverev was the big test. Mededev had cramp as well. Novak threw away two consecutive USOs. If it was pressure then Djokovic would have lost to Zverev in semis.
Novak is a class act. I suspect he was carrying an injury but he will neer reveal that
