If Murray was born in 1997 instead of 1987, how many slams does he win up to this point?

If Murray lad was born 10 years later, how many slams would he have won playing against his next gen peers and old man versions of big 3?

Murray officially broke through in summer 2008 so let's say Murray's time as top 4 player begins in summer 2018 in this scenario and carries up to the current day which is the equivalent of 2012 Australian Open in this alternative universe.

Does he become an ATG (the title that eludes him) already?

- 2008 Murray vs 2018 Djokovic at US Open
- 2009 Murray vs 2019 Big 3 at Wimbledon
- 2010 Murray vs 2020 Thiemovic at Australian Open
- 2010 Murray doesn't get to play WI cuz of COVID
- 2011 Murray vs 2021 Djokovic at Australian Open
- 2011 Murray vs 2021 Djokodal at French Open
- 2011 Murray vs 2021 Djokovic at Wimbledon
- 2011 Murray vs 2021 Medkovic at US Open
- 2012 Murray vs 2022 Medal at Australian Open

I'm taking into consideration the times he made QF or better at slams

Actually looking at those match ups.. Apart from 2021 Wimbledon and possibly 2022 AO, I won't pick Murray to win any of the slams.

Murray is easily a 10 slam player. His career co-inciding with Nadal, Djokovic and Federer is unfortunate for him. Murray would have cleaned up 2003 - 2007, he would be part of a new big 3 right now alongside Djokovic and Nadal, winning his fair share of slams if he were 10 years younger. He is a quality player that was just not quite as good as the best three of all time, but there's no shame in that as just about every past champion would have struggled with the level of competition that existed from 2008 onwards.

Imagine Sampras, Federer and Agassi as an example being roughly the same age. We would have had some amazing Wimbledon battles between Pete & Fed but ultimately they would probably end up with a lower tally than they have now as they would have split them. Federer would have won heaps more RG but Agassi would be a rival there. The AO and USO would be a great three-way battle too.

It is actually harder than you would think on surface for Murray.

It took Murray tl get 25 years old to get to Slam winning level. In 2017-19 Big 3 were still very strong for Murray. He would win his breakthrough Slam in 2020.
