Some inane achievements for Federer and Djokovic at the 2014 Paris Masters:

If Federer reaches the final, he will be the first player ever to reach the final of all 4 Masters Series Tournaments in the second half of the year.

If Federer reaches the final, he will have join Djokovic as the only players to have twice reached 6 Masters Series finals in one season.

If Federer reaches the final, he will tie Nadal for the most Masters Series finals with 40.

If Federer wins, he will be the only player to win 7 different Masters Series tournaments at least twice. (Nadal has won 5 different Masters Series tournaments at least twice, Djokovic has won 6 different Masters Series tournaments at least twice)

If Djokovic wins, he will join Federer and Nadal as the only players to twice have won 4 or more Masters Series tournaments in one season.

If Djokovic wins, he will join Nadal as the only players to win 5 different Masters Series tournaments at least three times.

Neither of them would be caring for any of the records detailed here.

Nevertheless, I suspect they would be records you might be proud of.

Perhaps, the most interesting is that no player has reached the final of Canada, Cincinnati, First Indoor, and Paris consecutively.

Other times that a player reached 4 consecutive Masters Series Finals:

2006 - Federer - Indian Wells-Rome
2007 - Federer - Hamburg-Madrid (1st Indoor)
2010 - Federer - Madrid-Shanghai (1st Indoor)
2011 - Nadal - Indian Wells-Rome (5 in a row)
2011 - Djokovic - Madrid-Cincinnati
2012 - Djokovic - Rome-Shanghai (1st Indoor)
2013 - Nadal - Monte Carlo-Cincinnati (5 in a row)
2013-14 Djokovic - Shanghai-Miami

Federer trying to reach 4 consecutive Masters Series finals for the 4th time in his career. Very Impressive.

Djokovic also reached 4 Masters finals in a row in 2013/14 by winning Shanghai, Paris, Indian Wells and Miami.

Also, if Federer reaches the final, he will have won 54 hard court matches, more than hard court great, Djokovic, has ever won in one season.

He will have won 70 matches in 2014. The sixth season he has done this. (Sampras - 4, Nadal - 5, Djokovic - 4)

Winning both the US Open and single's gold in the same year is the greatest achievement ever in tennis.

Only one man has accomplished it.

Is Nadal playing?

No?

Then this tournament does not count. The winner gets an asterisk and will history will note his success because of Nadals absence.
