K90, Kblade tour, K95

Hello everybody,

I am a baseliner and I m still looking for my new racquet. I hesitate between rqis, K90, K95 16°18 an KBT. I ask myself some question :

- is the difference of headsize huge between kbt and k90 in term of forgivness and sweetspot size ?

- is it an error to buy an k90 if i am a 3.5 player (I have no problem to play with kbt, and I tried a n6.1 90 and I had no problem, contrariwise it was the best racquet i have ever tried, but I played with it just for 15 min and didn't serve) ?

- is the K90 worse than a K95 in term of tiredness for long game (I ask it because of course k90 has more weight, but is more head light, lower SW and less stiff. With the K95, I had some elbow pain just on serve, not on groundstrokes, and I think it is more due the stiffness and not the weight) ?

- is the K90 more maneuvrable than K95 ?

Thanks

I am a 3.5 and use the k90. Would recomend more than kbt and k95. I demoed every single k factor and would recomend the k90 than k95 18 by 20 than k six one x, than ksix one 95 16-18, than the ksix one team. Overall k90 plays a lot different than the others in a good way and would definetly play with this. It dosen't hurt my arm.

yeah, i'm a 3.5 and i just starting playing around with a K90. I found that if I play people that are around 3.0-3.5 level, I can really have fun with the K90.. but if I play someone that's a 4.0+, I simply can't keep up. I just don't have enough time to prepare my shots as the heavy weight slows me down. I may get the hang of it in time, but I got pummeled the other day when I played a 4.0 guy with this racquet (note: I played better against him when I switched to my Babolat Pure Storm Tour in the second set)

I'm still getting used to K90.. it's so much fun to volley with it. It's one solid stick. Don't let anybody tell you what you can and can't play with.. Try them for yourself and see how you do with them.

thanks for your comments

Well I am very attracted by the K90, best feel of the world (for me), hyper solid, lethal precision, good pop, good spin, just a little unforgiving if the game is speed.... but my fear is that again good people, like you said, I can't play with it.
I am really strong with it again my friend 3.5, I have nerver played better. So I don't know what to do because again my friend I almost always hit the sweetspot, but maybe again a guy which put really good speed in the ball I can do the worst.

Demo'ed the k90, own the k95. Also play occasionally with a Pro Staff Midsize. Self-rated 4.0.

Hit with what you want. Keep in mind that you choose a racquet to play all points not just a few things. I honestly believe you should choose a racquet by how it works with your backhand, since it's a more difficult shot for most people. After that, serve. Most racquets are fine for forehand technique, unless you want learn a specific technique and need a different swingweight than what you're got.

Specifically the 90 vs 95: I liked the 90, stiffness was good, playability and spin were good. I didn't get it because I have an uber-control racquet already. Realize you will take heftier cuts with the racquet. It doesn't have as much pop as the 95, not at all. Some people prefer the more engaged feel of the 90, meaning you will have to prep or muscle more shots with it to get the requisite pace. The k95 I got on a trade, it's a fine racquet, a bit heavy for heavy topspin at my level of technique. The kBlade felt light but not really different (or better) than half a dozen different racquets I would be looking at as well (APDC, PD+, MGPMP.)

Biggest issue you(and just about any lower level player) will have with a k90 or kbt is the swingweight on your serves. I've seen many lower level players hit fantastic groundies with players sticks, but can't hit a serve for the life of them because they can't get it moving quick enough on the serve. Something to keep in mind.

I didn't serve with n90 but with the kbt or the K95 I was able to hit huge bombs so I think it is not the problem. My only fear with K90 is maybe the unforgivness again really good people and maybe my shoulder for long play time (but it is just suposition).

My main question is :
is it possible, nowoday, again pure drive or other tweeners, to be competitive with K90, for a 3.5 ?
I think to have a strong arm

I want to add that with kblade tour I play very well, so is the k90 lot more difficult to play with ?

no, not particularly. at this level of play the main to realize, however, is that power is not the biggest concern. Also, your matches against people at a higher level aren't supposed to be competitive, regardless of which racket you choose to use. A 4.0 should beat a 3.5 candily whether he uses a ps85 or a big buba.

it doesnt matter what racquet you use. if you are a 3.5 you wont be competitive to a 4.0. also, you probably wont get the benefits of a k90... but it wont necessarily hold you back. you have to do all the work, and the racquet wont make up for poor technique. but if thats the racquet you like the most, go ahead and use it.

You can't really choose a racket for a person because of their level. Those level things are just guidelines, and you don't have to necessarily follow them. The K90, is never ever junk :D

there have been a lot of threads with the comparisons between the k90 and the kbt you might want to check some of them out. I say go with the KBT it's much more suited to a baseline game than the k90.

Well I am thinking maybe the K90 is not for me, it is domage because I play very well with KBT but I would like a 16°19 and more weight.
But I think that I have to be reasonable, at my level, K90 is the better pleasure racquet but maybe for tournament it is not good because when the game is fast it seems to difficult to play with. I am a little disappointed but I think it is the better think to do. Goodbye K90
So maybe I think tor rqis or rds or maybe KBT (the racquet is really great but I don't like the 18°20)

I have always played 18 x 20 and I know what you mean.

But the KBT, as string sensitive as any smallish racquet tends to be, can perahps be tuned to give you more curve and spin with just different string setups.

I think the only way you'tre going to know if you can compete with and of these sticks (me I found the k95 way too heavy, yet the KBT is acceptable) is to give them a spin.

ANyway, when you lose a match you shouldn't be looking meanly at your racquet, it wasn't the racquet wot done it!

Cannot comment on RQIS.

Which stringbed k95 are you interested in, I found the 16 x 18 ridiculously powerful and yet way too heavy and stiff, weird is weird huh?
