I don't think Raonic should play.....he got enough matches for the Aussie!

Exhibition gives him no points anyways....why waste time.

He may ust use it as a practice session. A paid one. Just to keep the rythm going on his serve and try one or two things on his ROS. I think is nothing wrong with playing.

This is exactly it. None of the players give it their all at Kooyong (except Hewitt last year) The players will just use these as practice matches to get used to the melbourne conditions, the court surface and more importantly to find rythm going into the Open.

Andy Murray Stops At Kooyong On Road To Open

Murray to Play at Kooyong

ANDY MURRAY STOPS AT KOOYONG ON ROAD TO OPEN

World no. 4, ANDY MURRAY (GB), short of match practice, will make a special appearance at the AAMI Classic at Kooyong next week.

The 2011 Australian Open finalist will line up against Argentinian DAVID NALBANDIAN (ranked 64) on Friday afternoon, Jan. 13.

Murray is playing the Brisbane International this week. While Darren Cahill has assisted him in recent times through Team adidas, he has just announced Ivan Lendl as his new coach, mainly at Grand Slams and a few other selected tournaments.

His manager told Tournament Director, Colin Stubs, that Andy is looking forward to the match against the 30 year old Nalbandian, who is hoping for a good start to the year after two leg surgeries last March.

Nalbandian, whose highest ranking is 3, has played at Kooyong on four previous occasions.

Is it the female commentator? She is very unpleasant to listen to.

Same one I'm listening to, I've heard her before. She's not very good at all :-?

Her theory about the wind seems true enough though, Milos can barely win a point out there.

Maybe his next training session should take place in a wind tunnel

2 who lost in straight sets against each other LOL Who will be the victor?

Not Raonic, that's for sure.
He's replaced by Nishikori:

MARDY FISH (USA) had an easy win over a weary MILOS RAONIC (CAN) – 6/1 6/2, who later withdrew from the event with an upset stomach . “It’s been a long time since I’ve really felt 100% healthy, which I do now. And now I just need the matches and I need to get going again” Fish said in his after-match media conference.

Good move.

H e looked completely wiped out from the first ball of the match. Both he and Tsonga lost in straights, and both of them had won tournaments the week before. Too much tennis......I'm glad he's out of this exo.

Yep. I'm sure the appearance money didn't hurt, either.

Is it just me, or is Roddick being a lot more aggressive on his groundies. He's not exactly hitting like someone like Berdych or such, but he's playing more aggressively than last year at least.

Roddick must be playing at least half way decent as he just split sets with Berdych. Way less backhand slices, which is good.

And Andy takes the win from behind. Good match for him, serve looked a bit iffy at times but the groundstrokes were much improved from last year and looks like a good change. Hopefully this is a sign for things to come and he actually keeps this attacking mentality in the real matches.

I REALLLLLY hope your right about the groundies. The true test will be the AO. We'll know for sure if he's cranking the groundies there....

I wish Murray wouldn't clutch his knee like that, I know it might only be a tick and not a sign of a real problem, but he makes me nervous when he does it!

[EDIT]

Now he's turned to drink!
