Anyone in the New York area go to the Lexus Legends of Tennis event over at the USTA National Tennis center this weekends?
Billy Jean King, Martina Navratilova, Jimmy Connors, Tracy Austin, Gigi Fernandez, Mark Woodforde, Mary Joe Fernandez, Pat Cash, Luke Jensen, ValiVai Washington, Tim Mayotte were there. Not really all legends...but the event was actually kinda cool. They had 30 minute clinic where the players made their round and gave out some advice.
I went and used the clinic as a bit of a rehab for my bad knee that I have been DL'd for the last 2 month. I took my 9y/o son, who had no idea who any of these players were.
But he was hitting well and caught some attention from Jimmy Connors. When the clinic was over, he told me "that man said I play well"
