This thread isn't saying that it's definite, just asking your views about who you'd rate as most likely to, regardless of draw.

Djokovic, Federer, Ferrer, Nishikori, Murray, Verdasco, Kyrgios, Raonic or someone else?

Obviously Novak...unless I'm missing something?

Misspelled title.... Federer! That's a fantasy!

And I just noticed my @$£€¥% autocorrect changed "likeliest" to "liveliest".

Goodbye and good riddance, SwiftKey

Probably Joker but not putting Wawrinka on makes no sense. He's the only player who could redline and simply hit Rafa off the court. It isnt likely but weve seen what happens when Stan eats his spinach.

I went Raonic

Isner took Rafa to 5, and Raonic whilst not having a better serve definitely has a better ground game, he could conceivably blow Rafa off the court if he had a phenomenal serving day imo.

He gonna withdraw with nerves injury for 6 months so that he gonna be ready to win WTF for the first time since the beginning of time.

Would have to get enough points to Qualify for WTF though, something which I can feasibly see not happening at this rate.

Am I the only one who cannot see Nishikori beating Nadal at RG? I think people are vastly overrating him. Last year he played set and a half vs Rafa in Madrid and got injured, and you think that he could last for 4 or 5 (Nadal ain't going down in 3) grueling sets under the sun on the much slower courts in Paris (compared to Madrid)?

Plus, what has Kei really done on clay in his career, or at RG for that matter?

If Rafa plays with his RG 2014 level it would be straight sets, 4 at most.

Nah I don't see him doing it either, but I do think he is the most likely other than Djokovic (that doesn't mean it's at all likely).

Everyone else, in a single match situation, on paper, has basically no chance.

I see Wawrinka doing it before Nishikori actually.

Nishikori winning in B05 on slow clay against the Spanish Bull is humorous to me

Ultimately, it will all come down to Rafa's form. You may call me biased, but if Rafa is at, say 2012 level, nobody stands a chance.

But I'm pretty sure he will not be, so I hope it will be something between 2013 and 2014

Using common sense and objectivity, I voted for Muzza.

Nishikori is more likely to get the job done than Muzzard.

Maybe Muzzard will finally win a clay tournament soon when he enters that 250?

Overall, I agree with your view.

Nobody seriously thinks anybody has a better shot than Djokovic, right? RIGHT?

This Nadal who just lost to Verdasco can easily go out in three against Nishikori. Nishi can play a five set match too. All these speculation about RG is premature, but I know it can't be helped. It would be much more meaningful to talk about Monte Carlo.

4th round? I see what you did there

I'm starting to like Muzza more, that's why I voted for him. Still, it's a vote for the lulz :)

Woah, even I didn't see what I did there! :)

Something to do with Federer 4th round last year or something?...

It's way too early to make predictions on this, but if the current form of the players carry through to RG, then Nadal will look vulnerable, so it won't be just 1 or 2 players but quite a few players may be able to beat him. Still, Djokovic should be seen as having the best chance, I guess. However, it's way too early.

Nishikori is far more likely to take down Djokovic than Nadal at RG. The Heat has trouble with heavy topspin balls. There's a reason why he is yet to beat Nadal, even Gasquet anywhere.

Isn't the question we should be asking here: who is the liveliest player to beat Djokovic at 2015 Roland Garros?

And, who might that be?

Nadal? Murray? Melzer?

Yeah, Gulbis is going to beat Nadal at Roland Garros..

Didn't say anything about Gulbis beating Nadal. The thread title is likeliest or liveliest (lol) player to beat Nadal. I seriously doubt people went to school on this board. I highly doubt Djokovic will beat Nadal this year at FO, but I still like his odds better than anyone elses, and Gulbis would be my next choice.

What don't you understand?

As for Nishikori. Lol. Pretty positive Gulbis would easily handle Nishikori at the FO. Gulbis is useless most of the time, but can actually trouble the top players when playing well.

He's beaten Gulbis twice on clay. But I'd favour Gulbis at the FO any day.

Strange. His results on Clay throughout his career haven't been the greatest. Are you just basing this on his run from last year or something?

His A game is so rare these days too.

We'll see, I predicted a very good FO from him last year, and I think he'll do well again this year. I think Gulbis will end his career with a slam win.

Yeah, I guess we will. I think he will slip quite a bit in the rankings after the Clay season.

He's not making the SF at RG again without some serious luck.

I should probably confess at this point that I don't like the guy (if that wasn't already obvious), but I don't think my analysis is wrong, though.

Nishikori or Monfils imo.

Just don't think Djokovic has the balls.

Why do most people assume it'll be a top 10 player? I think it'll be someone outside the top 20, someone like Garcia Lopez, Fognini, or Mayer, or even a lower ranked one.
