Looking for a nex racquet... HELP?!

For the moment I play with the dunlop 5hundred tour.

However, I want a racquet that gives me more control... I can hit hard with the racquet but I find myself hitting too much out of bounds, and having not enough control of my placement.

Therefore I think I need a racquet with less weight in the head.
I generate good power myself so also don't need "power"-racquet.
I play with alot of topspin. One-handed backhand. Offensive player with strong forehand.
I'm an advanced player, teacher, tournament-player.

I allready tested the tecnifibre t-flight 325. Didn't feel good. My backhand was much worse with it. Good serves though..

I also tested the tecnifibre t-flash 315. It felt ok, but the same problems as with the dunlop. Not enough control and too much power for me. I liked the feeling of the extra weight in it, in comparison to the dunlop.

(It's not that I want a tecnifibre-racquet, just tested 2)

Brands I prefer: head, wilson, prince? (maybe babolat, but I don't like the pure-storm-editions? You know, the flat rackets)

I'm not that keen on dunlop-brand anymore. (had some problems with the handle, with more then one racquet..)

313 swingweight is already on the low-side.

worth testing something with similar specs but an 18x20 string pattern. (Head Prestige midplus fits that bill; too lazy to look for more)

If that fails, something flexier and/or smaller, perhaps

Thx for replying!

Don't be to fixated on 315gr. Just an indication i want a heavier racquet then my dunlop. If you think other (heavier) would suit me better just shoot.

I wouldn't presume (others may be better able to advise on that count)

I only mentioned the lightness because you mentioned you wanted less weight in the head, but the 500Tour is pretty light in the head already.

The other additional factor is string choice/tension. perhaps switching to a lower-powered string/upping the tension might help (and dissuade you from shelling out a few-hundred bucks on new sticks)

Yes I liked it. It felt really comfortable and nice to swing.

However I'm thinking the dunlop5hundred and tecnifibre are too much power-rackets for me?
(I've been reading some articles on TW and I guess I generate enough power myself)

If you're looking for a power-racket I think the dunlop is a top-racket. But for me sometimes it feels like a missile-launcher... And I had some problems with the handle that broke at the bottom. (2 times)

I'm going to test a head youtek graphene speed pro today... advised by shop.

Try the TFight 315 - it isn't a power racquet, IMO. It weighs a little under 12 oz. It is a soft stick, feels great.

I also really like the 320, but I haven't tried the 325. For starters, I generally prefer open patterns and I wasn't keen on the 18x19 pattern in the 325.

Demoed the youthek graphene speed pro (315g) and really liked it. To be sure I also want to test a slightly lighter frame.

Is there a slightly lighter frame (305g) that has the same characteristics?

I'm also thinking of testing a wilson with that is in same range.

I hope someone can inform me ;)

If you want slightly lighter frames maybe dunlop300tour and/or radical ig mp.
I play with the 300tour and it's very manouverable. Haven't palyed with the ig radical mp but heard good things. Both are control racquets which you seem to favour.

Thx.

But that's (unstrung) 295 gram. alot less then 315 from graphene no?

Ideal would be a racket between the two. Around 305gr. But they don't make those I guess? Also I really would like to test a wilson. So if someone knows a stick let me know.

Maybe the volkl Organix 9 or 10 would be worth a demo.

Oh and the much anticipated V1 Pro falls into your specs as well.

My Yonex Vcore 98d is 305g unstrung. So I'd guess its replacement the Vcore XI 98 would be also. One of the Tour 97s is 310g. My Prince EXO Tour 100 is also 310g.

If you want to move from the 500 tour to a racquet with more control, the tecnifibre 320 would actually be a really perfect choice. They are similar but the 320 is a little less head heavy and a little more control oriented, but keeps some of the spin-monster and power from the 500 t

I think the 320 is a great stick as well.
