Looking for VÖLKL racket

Hi,

I'm searching a Völkl racket giving me much control and spin. The power isn't so important, just a control orientated racket for spin and slice (my game is more defensive and with much slow top spins, cause I only play on clay).
The beam shouldn't be wider than 22 or 21, and I think to be able to generate good spin it should be 16x19 or 16x18 but if you have a 18x20 to suggest please do it (but only if it's good for spin ;) )

Thanks for any suggestions

The 16x19 version of the Tour 9 VE warrants a look. You can really whip it around with its lower swingweight, plenty of spin to be had compared to the 18x20 version. Tour 10 VE MP also gives plenty of spin and control.

Why only a Volkl racquet?

But the Tour 10 MP Gen II racquets look nice. I played with a friends, nice spin potential there (REALLY nice) and extremely comfortable. Nice control as well, and good all over the court. Worked well for me on groundstrokes and serves, and was still great at net. Worth a shot for you. 16x19 string pattern, by the way.

Honestly, I've never tried the normal Tour 10 version. However, I DID have the chance to play with the V-Engine. There's also an extensive review on the V-Engine version on the TW main page.

The V-Engine model was a nice racquet. Nice on serves, groundstrokes, and volleys. Good for slices, too, great racquet in general.

But honestly, when attempting topspin, it didn't work so well. Just wasn't comfortable. So I wouldn't recommend it if you play on clay, although I was extremely close to buying the racquet myself.

I use the VE version.the MP version and play only on the dirt and i have no problem whatsover generating as much spin as i need. the racquet 'works' fine for all kinds of spins. all the 10series frames play differently and flex in different places. The Gen2 would be easier to spin for many because it is lighter and easier to generate headspeed. if you do a search on this board, i am sure you can find lots of info..they are all really nice frames..

The Tour10MP (Gen1) swings slightly heavier and feels a little stiffer. It also seems to be capable of generating more pace than the Gen 2.
Sometimes I toy with the idea of going back, but we're got to look ahead :)

You can't go wrong either way. Any of the Volkl Tour line will fit what you are looking for, it's just a question of your level and how much weight you are comfortable.

I am not a fan of the "V" line and I noticed that they are marked down in my local tennis shop, while the Gen 2 (and most of the Babolats) are full price.
