Finally Lucas made the switch from Prince to Babolat Pure Drive...

He's practicing with it now before Indian Wells challenger.

Wow, that is indeed a big change. First switch from Adidas to le coq for apparel, and now the stick switch. If it's a Pure Drive, I understand, lol.

Which model of Le Coq Sportif shoes are they?
I just went through their entire website for court shoes (https://www.lecoqsportif.com/eu-en/e-shop/shoes-man?e=filter) and didn't find anything similar. Perhaps it is an older shoe?

Sidenote: definitely a matter of personal taste but I didn't find any of their offerings enticing. Zero aesthetic appeal for me.

I think they make shoes only for their contract players (Gasquet also uses it).

Agree. The website seemed to have many, many slight variations on a low cut, cup sole casual shoe and a hightop cup sole casual shoe.

I do like the silhouette of the shoe Pouille is wearing in that posted photo, except for the huge LCS logo just plonked on the heel.

It weirdly doesnt look like a PD but its got 16 mains so it is something different to his 100p.

Need better photo?

But it is totally different. More control and touch and feel you get from 100P, touring pro does not need that much power.

Pros play with softer frames anyway. Babolat can make a PD with a 60 RA if Pouille wants.

Yep but it should play differently. Had some of those pros' rackets in my hands (included softer Babolats) but I haven't tested any of them so I couldn't say...

As I mentioned many times. Pros have lower RA Babolat frames and if you know the right person you can have 60 RA PA or PD.

Well, it isn't his TT100P either though. It's a 16 mains stick (zoom and you'll see) so technically he has switched. Im curious to know what's underneath the PJ.
It really does look like the 100p based on the shape.

The 2 outer mains are basically pointless on the 100p that not drilling them makes some sense.

If he was to switch to using PJ over his TT100P, why would they go through trouble of drilling his mold with 16M when he is used to his racquet and drill pattern with 18M? Doesn't make sense regardless of whether outer mains in TT100P are useless or not.

Well, he was top 10 2 years ago and now #58, so I think all options are open for the 26 yrs old half French/ Norwegian.

For the people who think the prince 100p at his specs is control orienred: please try it. I felt like it plays very powerful and a lot of spin. Doesn't play like a 18x20 at all. I would assume a switch to a strike would be closer maybe, but still pure drive isn't like changing from a prestige mid to a aero plus for example.

Not about this thread but if you take a closer look of Gasquet’s shoe you can tell it’s still the same ASICS he’s been using for years (one of the takedown model of Gel Resolution 6)

I have been playing with it for 5 years. It is control oriented. Not Prestige wise ofc but still more than any tweener on the market.
