By that logic it may as well just be Bill Gates:

I doubt Tiriac could exactly bring it on the court any more.
Correct me if I'm wrong though - McEnroe is still great apparently.

Sorry for my ignorance but how the highest net worth is calculated in tennis ? By prize money, sponsorship or anything else? Agassi having higher net worth than Novak?

It's not an imaginary tournament. It's a ranking by wealth of professional tennis players. What do Bill Gates and Tiriac's on court ability at 77 have to do with anything?

Courier and Santoro with nearly the same net worth... that is shocking considering their age difference is not big at all.
Slam titles on the doubles tour explain this I guess. Santoro had a very long career too.

Thank you for your very helpful response. Your comments about economy are as valuable as your comments about tennis.
To a guy like Navdeep, who thought it would be calculated by tournament winnings, I thought it might bring some clarity.

To a guy like you, I assume nothing will bring clarity, so again you get left in the dust.

Did Tiriac make some investments with outstanding ROI?
Didn't he own some tournaments at one time? He did some commercials.... probably bought in right in Romania as the revolution happened. They probably did have an excellent ROI.

That list is baloney. They have no idea what the various players net worth is. They can come up with a rough idea of what their income is but they have no idea how the players invested their money and how wealthy those investments have made them. I don't know nearly as much about the other guys but I know Rafa is fabulously wealthy because his father is a very shrewd business man and that figure of $125 million is way low. Rafa owns many hotels, apartment buildings, real estate, restaurants and assorted businesses all around the world plus his Foundation owns a bunch more and his wealth is intertwined with the rest of the Nadal family's and they are all very very rich.

Serbian mafia has to pay for all those fixed draws. Otherwise based on prize money of over 100 million , total net worth of 130 million would be much more

Apparently he's over $170 billion.

Then that's really interesting, because his annual income as a politician does not exceed 2 million dollars according to an article i read months ago. Merkel, Obama etc earn more.

LOL, wonder what illegal activities Vladimir is involved in:)

Anyway, Mubarak embezzled trillions of dollars of Egyptian money, so did the Marcos' family after that Edsa revolution in the Philippines in 1986, The Kaddafis etc.

I add that Rafa owns also the Rafa Nadal Sports Centre (his Academy is a part of it) in his hometown. :)

Obama earns more? Not. His annual salary is $400,000 per year. There are many other government officials that earn more than he does. Obama also gets some royalties from the books he wrote a few years ago. US presidents don't get rich, not while they're in office anyway.

You are right, that article I read must have converted the salaries in swedish krona. Here's another article with leaders' income in dollars from 2014:

Putin is not even in this list.
