Marco Trungelliti - The Road Trip Dude!

Putting this in Pro Match Results in case people don't know he beat Tomic.

What an amazing story! Dude had an opportunity to play as a LL but he was already home in Spain. So he got in the car with his brother, mother and grandmother and drove 9 hours to Paris, getting there around midnight. Then he beat Bernie the tank engine. Faces Cecchinato on Wednesday.

He's barely in the top 200, has a career high of 127.

Good for him, would be better if he develops some brain. If he had any chance of playing as a LL, should've stayed around for just one more day.

His brother took the selfie.

(Maybe the take turns)
Maybe mom drove too?

it looks like he is the one driving, not his brother..... Isn't the Steering wheel on the Right side in the European compact cars ????
Dunno about which side of the car etc, but the journalists on Twitter were saying that Marco didn't do the driving.

But maybe he did a bit of it. I'm guessing we'll hear more details soon, especially if he goes in deep.

  2. As if this guy weren’t already likable... MARCO TRUNGELLITI: Well, the answer is I lost Thursday afternoon. The next day I didn't do anything. We had to get the prize money and take a few things from here...The next day we had a barbecue, which is something very important for us.

"My grandma was in the shower, and I told her okay, we go to Paris. There are many flights cancelled so I didn't trust too much and there is no train now in France, so I just take the car," -- Marco Trungelliti: from the shadows to the bright lights of the main interview room.

Like for example Jorge Mario Bergoglio.
Possibly Alberto Mancini (former #8 ATP), Gabriela Sabatini (former #3 WTA). And then the Germans/Jewish Germans like Leonardo Mayer and Diego Schwartzman. And the Armenian connection with Nalbandian. The country is a melting pot as diverse as the USA.

No, you're thinking of Great Britain (as well as Oz, New Zealand and Japan) where they drive on the left side of the road. Spain (where Trungelliti lives) and France (where the French Open is played) are in Europe, where they drive on the right-hand side of the road, so cars there have the steering wheel on the left (unless it's a RHD car imported from Great Britain, which is pretty rare).

I'm quite surprised an alleged Stanford graduate wouldn't know this... hmmmm...

Some kind of European compact? lol it really is just like something out of a slapstick comedy

For real? I thought it was just a myth that Americans all drive humongous trucks. This is just a regular small car man. You see them everywhere in Europe. Hard to believe you don’t have them in the US as you often drive European brands.

I've driven in Europe and it's true that the average American car is bigger. Not necessarily "humongous trucks" but full size sedans, SUVs, minivans. I think a big reason is the difference in fuel prices. Gas is about twice the price in Europe as it is in the US.

Also, the models marketed here by European companies are usually bigger than the typical cars in Europe. Same with Japan.

Dude, did you not see his picture? He's probably got a couple kilos of weed taking up the trunk space!

Or maybe he read on TT never to leave your rackets in the trunk, you will lose string tension.
He does look like a happy dude.

Or maybe Tecnifibre gets lots of free pub and he gets more free racquets, string and bags!
