Great guy, this Meles - perhaps a tad too close to Dominic Thiem, but he actually knows what's up. Spoke a lot via PM and he literally only uses his posts to trigger people nowadays. He's an agent of chaos - at least chaos is "fair"

What else is gonna use his posts for when it's grass season?

I mean this is next gen on grass:

It's a bit better at Wimbledon but on old-school grass in those few German warm-ups, it's comedic to watch them play.

But doesn't he have to defend Halle and Wimbly ? And what if that sweaty chap does better at Queens than he did last year ?
He'll be #1 for one week if he reaches the Stuttgart final.

Then he needs to defend Halle in order to stay #1 until the end of Wimbledon. (Nadal has pulled out of Queens.)

Then he needs to defend Wimbledon and hope Nadal doesn't do better than last year there to stay in the top spot.

If Fed somehow manages to win all three grass tournaments, then I believe Rafa is allowed to make the quarters at Wimb with Fed still being #1

Maybe blind VBs should know difference between injury and fake injury

Well, then be so kind to specify how do you tell the difference and what injury (fake or real) did Rafa have :)

By the way, I don't ever mock or generalize other fanbases (i.e. calling you Fedt.ards or etc.). Doesn't really make you cool

Are you sure? Seems to me that if Rafa reaches QF, he'll gain 180 points over his current total, making it 8960.

If Fed wins Stuttgart this week, he'll be on 8920, which already includes W and Halle wins.

So QF should be enough to guarantee Rafa #1 post-Wimbledon no matter what Fed does.

754 posts on a three-setter at a 250?
Did one of Fed's legs fall off last night?

Didn't get a chance to watch, awful timezone here for anything European

Maybe these commentators should check the difference between injury and selective scheduling.

Also, Nadal played at the AO.
Where does injury end and protecting your body begin though? Obviously I am not privy to Rafa's medical records, but the way he came back in the clay season suggests to me that his injury can surely not have been that debilitating anymore by the time of Miami. I guess he was being careful more than anything and wanted to make sure that he did not jeopardise the clay season.

And I have absolutely no problem with that. Even if he hadn't been injured in the AO, skipping the rest of the HC events and being ready and healthy for the European clay makes sense for Rafa, particularly as he gets older. In the same way I have no problem with Fed skipping clay to protect his body. I want to see them both continue to play at a high level as long as possible.

I am not too bothered about the number one ranking. The important thing is, if Federer wins all three tournaments, he will take back the number one ranking in the race. He's currently at #3 with 3110. Nadal has 5040. Remember last year, Nadal took over the lead and somehow Federer couldn't close it even after winning Wimbledon.

Well, the injury at Montreal and QF at the US open didn't help. If anything, year end number one should be the target.

he has so many points to defend this grass season. I'd rather him focus his energy on defending Wimbledon above all

You’re probably right. Didn’t take into account the 100pt lead that Nadal has over Fed right now

Should Nadal reach the final - a possibility that I don't consider likely, but can't be discounted - then I believe he will still lead the race after Wimbledon.

I have said it 10000000000 times and repeating again...
I do not hate nadal, he is 3rd favorite for me after fedovic.....
I just don't like his time violations, fake injury stuff,

I heard him saying that.

Did he lose the very first match at Miami ???

Did he not get a BYE in the first round. That should count as a win :D :D

Only some byes count as wins like last years Wimbledon final. ;)

true, the blister was still there during the AO, and during his loss to Delpo at the FO :D
Otherwise he would be on his fourth slam !
Also, Hyeon Chung would have won every title this year if he did not get a blister during the Australian Open! (Just joking) But, seriously blisters are very tough to handle especially when they are on feet because it will be hard to move.

That is the cost of the brutal match vs Rafa at the AO - he is still recovering from it. They both ended up busted from the match. ;)

Steady on. He’s a long long way off winning all 3 events. I think that’s a really tall order for a guy of 36/37...

It's all hypothetical, no? I used "if" and said "the most important thing." I never said it was a done deal.

Indeed. My thinking is that staying healthy and winning all three is more like a dream scenario, not even a realistic wish list. He’s gonna lose somewhere...just hopefully not Wimbledon.

I agree. Slightly makes me worry about him overextending himself ahead of Wimbledon. Well, he's no fool so I'm sure he will do what he knows is best.

Hope so, i’d agree that he certainly knows what his body is capable of far better than us. Overall I like the idea that he’s trying to maximise grass season, but I don’t think he’ll win them all.
