Most match points saved, or blown by you?

Just wondering what this was for everyone. The most match points I've blown is 2, at 9-7 in the super tiebreak. The most I've saved is 3 I think, down 4-5 in the second set, 40-15 and it was no ad.

What about you guys? I guess you could put in set points too but I don't remember those as much.

I saved 8 match points before going down for the first time ever on my neighborhood hard courts. For a match I've won, I think the most I've saved is 5 match points. I lost one match in two tiebreakers where I had 1 set point in the first set and 6 set points the next set.

6-2 down in 3rd set tie break to win 9-7. On the other hand, i have been 9-1 up in championship tiebreak for 3rd set and ended up winning 11-9

I saved 9 match points in a match once. I also won 4 matches in my last season of HS in matches which i was down a match point. Must be devastating to lose a match in which you have a match point.

It's so hard for me to close out the match on a match point. One time I was up 5-3 in the 2nd set and it went into a tiebreaker in which I barely slipped by my opponent in.

A #5 in our HS conference had 4 match points in a split set super tiebreak & lost 13-11. He could have clinched the conference championship for their team (1st ever) with his match. Instead, he & a doubles pair lost (team loss 3-4) & they got 2nd place. That had to hurt.

Ouch, at the last tournment, my friend was up 5-0 first set, barely won 7-6, up 5-0 second set, lost 7-5, down 9-2 in super, won 12-10. Talk about comebacks.

I saved 9 match points, it was 5-3 (40-0) for my opponent, i went on to win the set 7-6, tie break won 10-8. The most match points i've were 4 in one set, but eventually took the set 6-4, i had a 4-0 lead, then it was 5-2, proceeded to blow the four chances i had, twice on my serve, and twice on my opponents.

I was down today 6-9 in a 10-point tie-breaker, on serve, but the sun was in my eyes and I saved several match points and won 11-9

I think i blew about 10 match points in a tie breaker, but not consecutively, but they were on my serve. most i've ever saved was in a third set tie breaker. i was down 6-1 and came back to win, 8-6

Played a mens open tournament here in Poland two days ago, placed third, but in one match we went into a super tiebreak. I was down 9-4 and barley alive after the first match earlier in the day, and now this 2-hour thriller, but I pulled it out 12-10 somehow...

I was down 1-6 1-4 (30-40) and came back and won 6-4 and 10-4 in the tiebreak. On the flip side I was up at a southern tourney 6-1 5-3 (40-0) and lost! I should have just drop served him!

Today in my quarterfinal match I was up 6-2 5-2 40-0 against the kid's serve. Blew those three, and two more in that game alone. Next game, up 40-15 serving, blew four points in a row. Next game had 40-30 and then two ad-ins. Gone. Got down 5-6 but tied it up and hit an ace at 6-5 to FINALLY clinch the match in a close tiebreak. All in all, the kid saved 10 match points. Had some amazing mental stability to fight like he did.

My most saved was 4 I believe. I started the match down 6-0 3-0, came back to win the second set 6-4, and then won the tie-breaker 15-13

i remember one match i was down 5-0 40-0 in the 3rd set i came back to win it 7-6 in the tb. I remember i wasted 3 mp's to lose a match 7-6 i served for the match 3 times!

Well in the same tournament, I played a total of 4 tiebreaks (2 set and 2 super) While I won both set tiebreaks, I lost both super tiebreaks. My semifinal match was one of the worst matches I think I have played throughout my entire Tennis career. It was pitiful. I lost the first set (after having 2 set points, nonetheless) and won the second, but got creamed in the tiebreak. He was lefty and I could do nothing but slice every shot back to him.

Fast forward to the next match. Playing JUST as badly, without any clutch serving. First set gone, 1-6. Second set was a lot of the same, and I soon found myself down 15-40 3-5, double match point. Ace. 30-40. Ace. Deuce. After clawing back 2 more match points from ad out, a sliding forehand lob winner gave me the game. This was only part of it. Now I had to break. Down 30-40 again, backhand winner (Which never, ever happens for me. My backhand is my soft&steady wing) Took the next two points, 5-5. Then I got destroyed in my service game. 3:00 sun was brutal and my serves were sitters. Another must-break. After being down 30-40 and pushing for 20+ shots, he missed. I promptly netted the next return and had to do it again. I decided to go 2011 Djokovic and crush a return as hard as I could. The net cord gave me a blessing, and I ended up taking the game. Tiebreak, was down 5-6, served and stayed in it and won 8-6.

At this point, I decided I had made my point and didn't care any more. I had pulled my groin, fractured a toe, had blisters up and down my feet, and I was purely exhausted. He came back with more energy, and I was quickly down 0-5. Then it was 2-8. Then 3-9. After pulling a few points out of nowhere, I was at 8-9. After running to get a forehand, my shoes couldn't find any grip and I went tumbling into the side fence. All in all, I have no idea how many match points I saved. If someone wants to do the math for me, go ahead. All I know is that I hate that court and it has no grip whatsoever. Or maybe I should just stop sliding on hard courts. :D

That's my story of the year.

Junior was up 9-3 in a "first to 10 by 2" tiebreak in lieu of a third set, and (eventually) won 13-11. I think at 9-7 he played a ball that even the other parent couldn't beleive, out by like a foot. Very painful to watch.
