Most powerful 18x20 racquets?

I know this may not make sense to most of you, but I love the tight patterns since my b/h slice is probably my best shot, but......most 18x20s are too low powered for me. Recently I have been using the Prince Tour 100P which offers nice power and in the past used the Dunlop 300 Tour. There doesn't seem to be many others, but I want to make sure I'm not missing any....

The Dunlop f3.0 Tour has a surprising amount of power for an 18x20.

I found that the speed pro had a bit more power than the tour 100p.

If it doesn't have to be current, the older head instinct was probably one of the stiffer rackets that was 18/20. Maybe the Wilson pro tour as well?

Blade just didn't feel right for me and I went with the Speed Pro. It is one of those racquets that should match up perfectly but was a little too soft/muted for me. Pure Strike/Tour really comes down to if you can handle that Babolat "feel" or lack thereof.

The Pure Strike Tour - the worst frame I've tried.

Exceptional at hitting flat but nothing else!

Stiff as a board - probably the stiffest frame I've ever used.

Off centre strikes are rewarded with the most horrible jarring feeling imaginable.


For power in a 18 by 20 - try the PK Q Tour - it has exceptional springyness to it - the ball sort of catapults off the string bed.

Damn. Not sure if we play the same sport

Had another 5 minute hit with the Pure Strike Tour today - not the lighter version which is just called the Pure Strike.

It's strung with Yonex Tour yellow string at 48 ilbs.

Yes,my initial thoughts are spot on. Feels as stiff as a board.

Off centre strikes are arm jarring - for me anyway.

It does feel great in my hand - like a weapon.

When I use it though - its feels every bit as stiff as Feds new frame - which I found to be extremely stiff.

A lot of people like the Pure Strike Tour including many Tour players.

Don't know how you feel about modding, but I have added a leather grip and 15 grams of silicone into the grips of my Prince Tour Pro's (no exo ports) and it ia unequivocally the best racquet I have ever used. It is 18 x 20, good spin, unbelievable control,cheap and a great headlight balance.

If weight is an issue, just add the leather grip.

It sure is a stiff stick. What comes with the stiffness is tons of controllable power. It has the biggest sweetspot I've seen in any 98sq frame, when I keep my eyes on the ball I rarely mishit or feel any discomfort. 18g soft poly makes it even better. I don't like stiff racquets myself but this one is just really effective. What do you typically play with?

Try lowering the string tension and/or add lead on your favorite racket, and you will probably get all the power you need without looking for another racquet

The six one 95 18/20 is the one of course, but you need to be pretty good - and pretty strong - to wield one successfully. Blade is the lighter option but still good SW. LM Radical MP is superb - best of all worlds.

The Donnay Pro one 18x20 version ....almost the exact specs of the blade except the Donny is injected with a material like xenocore ....basically the racquet is "corked" the way players cheat with baseball bats .....the result is a very powerful blade.

I stuck .6oz of lead in the very bottom of the racket handle of my 18x20 2013 Blade 98. I'll let you knows how it goes. Trying to make it into a doubles racket.
