Multi/Syn Gut - difference tension on Mains and Crosses?

hi, sorry i am not very good at search. I am sure this may have been covered before.

quick q - is it worth while to drop the tension on the crosses for multi and/or Syn Gut?

i use 1.30mm multi or syn gut on 95 sq" racquets @ 54lb on both mains and crosses.

Should i drop a few lbs for the crosses? wouldnt mind experimenting, but would like to know which "starting tension" to try for the crosses if i keep the mains at 54lb. i use the same for the 100 sq" and 97 sq" racquets, so wouldnt mind experiment on these ones if the different tension works on the 95 sq"

thanks.

yeah, good personal experiment!
the lower cross on this ^ setup should give you a bit more free movement from the mains and not as "locked string feel"!!
I do like polys better than syn.gut on the cross though, just because the polys are naturally more slick,, you would need to lower on the poly tension though, IMO
i currently have a y.vcore.95 strung @54lbs FB w.sensation, feels good 2 me at that tension

Cool. Thanks.
do you have 54lb on both the mains and crosses?
I’d like to experiment fb or multi and Syn gut - should I drop the cross tension say 4lbs to start with. So 54lb for the mains and 50lb for the crosses? Lol

yeah, my racquet is a 16/20 pattern, so a FB multi at 54/54 works for me
I never like to go more than 5lbs difference on tension, some people say there is no issue, Im paranoid about it, so as a rule for myself with in 5lbs is where I like to be
good luck with your experiment

I've strung multi/sg 3 times with some success. I found that multi in the mains at -3 lb. from your regular full bed tension and sg in the crosses +4 above your new main tension works well. Let it sit for a few days before cutting it out in disgust. It should settle nicely.

Strung up PP Syn Gut 1.30 at 54lb for the mains and Babolat Syn Gut 1.30 at 50lb for the crosses on a 95 sq racket A coupe of days ago
Had about 30mins with it and thought that was an okay setup.
not tried fb of multi with this setup yet. Will give the above Syn gut experiment another go next time but so far a fun test. Decent experiment I think.
