Nad-Fans, Fed-Fans, UNITE! Tis the Season (2017 season that is)

Personally, I've been tremendously enjoying this 2017 tennis season, a season which promised the rise of young upcoming stars, to take over (Zverev, Kyrgios....) and battle "top dogs" Djokovic and Murray for the highest spot. Mostly, Federer and Nadal seemed to be fading out of the picture and not much talk was heard regarding both of them.

Surprise surprise, Federer and Nadal are winning Grand Slams this season! Its incredible. I thought that maybe Nadal would have had it a bit easier, with him being King of Roland Garros, while Federer, having been competitive the past two years, I gave him a slight chance to have a great run maybe at the US Open and Wimby. With a bit of luck but with incredible tennis (not his best ever tennis, no way), Fed won yet another Grand Slam. Next in show, Nadal reclaims his RG kingdom, undisputed C-GOAT (Clay-GOAT).

What is next for both of them? Well, Federer, I think, did a pretty obvious move, although a bit surprising, he skipped clay season altogether (I thought he would play RG and maybe one more tournament at least...), and hes getting ready for Wimbledon. And that is going to be his season, he will play the most important tournaments and in between he will be getting ready, he doesnt care about No. 1 spot anymore (this takes too much) but wants to win another GS. This tells me maybe this could be his last season, retirement is really close, maybe we'll see him in 2018, who knows, but its a certainty that we will get to see him less and less until its over (pretty soon :( ).

Nadal, I think, is still the BEST claycourter on tour, he can be a favorite for the next 2-3 years maybe, I see him winning at least one more RG, but then the other Grand Slams, I just dont see it anymore. I dont know if he's got enough gas in the tank to reach 18 Slams (this considering, to me, that he could win multiple RG, so that would mean he would win 3 more, a hard thing even for the king of the clay).

In conclusion, Im fearing this is somewhat of a farewell season, for both of them, playing at top form. It is a bit sad, I am enjoying watching them BOTH, even though, traditionally Ive been a Nadal fan, specially at the peak of their rivarly. When Federer was in god-mode, unbeatable, I rooted against him (much like a lot of *******s or *******s do), but its impossible not to like Federer, hes just a great champion and he must be a great guy, at least thats the impression he gives everywhere he goes (same for Nadal!). I was extatic when he won his 18th, just a tremendous feat, and if its his last one it is just tremendous (he has a shot at another one, we'll see!). I get the impression, from him, that by winning his 18th, he proved to himself what he was looking for: one more slam, at 36, when everyone counted him out, and thats good enough. Hope he has a great Wimbledon (would LOVE to see him win and he has a genuine shot).

Lets all celebrate two of the GREATEST players ever, their careers are unbelievable, and its going to be a sad, sad day, the day theyre both gone.

I feel privileged to have watched their whole career, I remember Federer beating Sampras at Wimbledon and him taking over the ATP, I remember Nadal battling it out with Hewitt at the AO running non-stop, then thinking he was probably going to win three, or four RG... Never would I've imagined he was going to win ALL FOUR grand slams.

Enjoy their tennis, because one minute they'll be here, and the next minute they'll be gone...

Long live King Roger, Lord of Tennis, long live King Rafael, Ruler of the Clay.

There will be no unity. I tried to make a thread about their matches, it got overrun by a scientific analysis of choking. I didn't think Patriots fans could be outdone, but I'm seriously unsure when I visit this place :p

Fed and Nadal should just quit singles and both focus on doubles together. Try to beat the Bryan's record and play for another 10 years and dominate while winning 20 GS titles in dubs.

Haha. I would love that to happen. But Fed has every intention to play (singles) until he's 40 (he's serious!), so I "realistically" hope they could play doubles together for 2-3 years (?) and win 2-3 slams each year, LOL.

Tennis would be as popular as ever! Or even more.

I think Federer will be around a while longer which is why he is preserving his body, a lot like Agassi did in his later years.

An incredible 33 slams between them.

Let that sink in for a moment

33 slams....
Fedal is and has always been the best duo of all time.

Forget about 33 slams between them. No other duo in tennis history has finished in the top 2 for 6 consecutive seasons. Not even Djokodal.

I can't imagine how this place would be if Fedal win all 4 slams this year or even 3/4. I just wish they could finally meet in a USO, preferably a final.
