Nadal doesn't use an APDC???

I got new evidence from my trustworthy friend that Rafael Nadal does not in fact use Babolat AeroPro Drive Cortex... he still uses a regular AeroPro Drive, with a paint job to make it look like an APDC. Look at these pictures:

These pictures clearly show that the cortex system has been painted onto the racquet. Who else but Nadal would be crazy enough to paint one on instead of just using the real thing?

From a stringer who recently strung for him:

- no Cortex
- 21Kg of tension or so (which is so similar to Fed:))
- the strings are custom, carry his name on them in small print, they are not the off-the-shelves stuff, don't believe the marketing
- 5 racquets ready for the match, identical in tension
- 2-3 strung during the match from those used up, just to be on the safe side
- uses the tournament stringers, not one of those private stringers (which have a hold on 12 of the top 20 male players these days)

Yes, the strings say "Pro Hurricane Tour Nadal" which is in reality "Tour Duralast"

Damn, i believe that Nadal put that overgrip on in the lockers, he did not have a pair of scissors to cut the extra material. Ugly.

that is sad that so few players actually use the racquet that "they" say they do. but it is really the company that sponsors them, because im sure most players don't exactly love having to play with racquets with pjs and all.

I thought that pics were from French open and nadal has since switched to Aeropro cortex ?? He had been experimenting with the cortex all summer long, my local babolat rep told me.

The racquet OBVIOUSLY doesn't have cortex. It's so easy to tell because no matter how hard you try, paint will never look 3Dish enough to look like the real cortex.

It sounds like local Babolat Rep has no idea what Nadal is really using. He or she is out there trying to make a living selling Babolat's line of products. Or if the Rep does know that a player is using a Paint Job they will never admit to it because they want to sell the newest line of products to their accounts.

Aren't those like Fede's pics?

Uhhh... Federer uses a Wilson nSix-One... I don't know how you came up with that idea.

And yeah, there would be no reason to paint on a cortex if he really wanted to use the original AeroPro Drive without cortex. What I don't get is, why wouldn't he want a cortex? I have an APDC Plus and I love the feel of it.

I really thought the Cortex was a better frame, a improved version, it is too bad if rafa is not using it.

You misunderstand what Jonnyf has said. "Fede" is a member here at TW and he orginally posted those photos of Nadal's racquet you have now posted up in this thread.

Oh, well in that case, they probably are, because the friend I got them from is always on this website.

Babolat is crazy not Rafa. They wanted us(buyers) to purchase the APDC. However, Rafa doesn't have a problem hitting the sweetspot so he isn't worried about shocks and stuff. Why bother change his racquet?
You didn't know??????????

That is probably a fake racket sold from like a chinese website or some sort...Friend of mine played in junior french and wimbledon when he was younger and he had hit with nadal...He uses wat babolat says he uses..But he uses duralast tour.

Yes.. We all know he uses duralast and the APD not the APDC.
Yes.. Nadal racquet supplier is a chinese seller from the e b a y

how do we know this is his racket. And not someone else's random racket

because we all knows rafa's superstitions i doubt he has ever touched a racket and play with it that was not his.... how else would have a painted on cortex racquet then anyways?

-tour duralast strings
-custom dampener w/insert

Just as rafa orders it...

Looks more like a Wilson Kobra with a Babolat paint job. Guess all the really good players use Wilson.

Nadal uses cortex. TW pays a handful of forum members to photoshop Nadal pics to make it look like a paintjob so they can sellout the old line of APDs.

Ok. Maybe not.

true

I thought most players knew roddick and nadal don't use cortex.

He doesn't, though. There are a few posters on this board who have actually strung for Nadal at big tournaments, and said he uses an old AreoPro Drive WITHOUT the cortex, it's just painted on. And nice way to revive an ancient thread, by the way.

Because we just know. You think Nadal, as superstitious as he is, would actually play with someone else's frame? What kind of drugs are you on?

I am going to tell my local rep to get in touch with Nadal and ask him what he is really using. I hope he is using the cortex.

He isn't.

I see Fedace's posts, and I know that none of what he says is true, so how does that work out?

Does anyone have a clear idea of his lead set-up?

Looked at hd tennis website, know the balance and all and lead is at 12 and buttcap area.

But, regarding the 12 o'clock area, how long are the lead strips to each side, if 12 is center? How many of the mains do the lead strips cover?

Does anyone have a photo or knowledge? (rather than opinion)
