I dont like how they schedule this event. This looks like an interesting match, Nadal needs to play good, in terms of his serve.I read somewhere that his 1rst serve avg speed was 108, this kid will need to work on gaining more power on his serve.

Thanks for posting the schedule, Kevin, I hadnt had a chance to look yet.:) And Sco'll have to keep away from the double faults and be really aggressive and come to net to be able to have any chance at all.

I kept hearing how Nadal's serve was a big liability, but watching him yesterday and at Montreal, his served seemed ok. Good spin, decent placement, and good percentage. He's not blowing people off the court with his serve, but it was a lot better than I'd heard.

It'll be interesting if Nadal ever pulls a Lleyton and shows up with a real service weapon. Easy points on serve combined with that level of fitness and tenacity?

He spins a lot in which brings the average down but gets him a higher percentage - and shields his 2nd serve from possible abuse. And placement still wins over speed - 108 angled away from the returner is still an easy point won.

Nadal may not be a factor in this year's USO - but he will be in the years to come.

Jenkins was actually afraid of Roddick's serve last year - he jumped out of the way of it several times wide-eyed with fear. Roddick could have triple bageled him had he wanted. Nadal will have no trouble whatsoever.

Just checked the TSN schedule here in west canada. Glad to see they're finally going to show some live evening matches now.

Jenkins is a lot better than last year. He won't win but I predict he will get 3-4 games in at least two of the sets and will push him in at least one. If he gets one set of Nadal it will be a good result for him.

Yeah, he's definitely a lot better than last year. Like I said, if Sco can just be really aggressive I think he has a small chance. I mean he has absolutely nothing to lose, he's definitely better and more experienced than he was last year, and he's coming in with more confidence than ever. And Im not saying Sco is gonna win, just that we shouldnt count him out quite yet.

I look forward to watching how Scoville Jenkins play. I still think Nadal has a great chance of going far in the US Open if he keeps it up. He might meet Blake in the next round. I watched Blake beat Rusedski yesterday and Blake played really well.
