Thanks for posting the wedding info, @octobrina10! I hope they get right to work on some little Rafa's/Rafaella's!:love:

Rafa likes children. He has said he wants more than two kids.

Now, his only concern is to win his fourth US Open before marrying his lifelong girlfriend.
It would be ironic that Nadal is the one who prevents Djokovic from exceeding the record for more weeks as Federer's number 1.
If the Spaniard wins in NY, his chances of finishing the season as number 1 for the fifth time would be huge and we'll see if he does what it takes to get it after his marriage.

Legend
The article below is based on the Spanish-language article I posted above.

Majorca Daily Bulletin, 2019-08-14:
¤¤ Rafa Nadal's wedding venue and date announced.

Finally we have a date. Majorca's tennis ace Rafa Nadal and Xisca Perelló will marry on October 19 in Puerto Pollensa. This was revealed by our sister newspaper Ultima Hora. The ceremony will be held at noon on a property near La Fortalesa, the Majorcan estate made famous by the BBC TV series The Night Manager. Real Madrid star Gareth Bale married at La Fortalesa earlier this year. The reception takes place at the famous estate in Pollensa which is owned by a British banker.

This is just speculation (again) from the Spanish media. The local paper is just repeating what a tabloid said and they're just guessing. Nobody in the Nadal camp has made any announcement of any sort and there are a number of discrepancies in the article plus Rafa has other announced commitments around that date. Personally I wouldn't be surprised if the wedding was in September but that's just a guess on my part too. :p

It is usually never recommended to have children right away after marriage. At least a few years adjustment period is recommended.
Not to mention, Nadal has a lot of important things for now - as he chases the slam record and attempts to cement his legacy.
Rafa and Mery have been as much as married for years now. They've been living together for a long time. I think after 15 years they're pretty well adjusted to each other. ;)

No. Even Nadal win in NY, his chances of finishing the season as number 1 is still small. Djokovic has Shanghai, Paris... after US open meanwhile Nadal will skip all of them because of his wedding.

However, if Nadal win in NY, his chance of surpass Federer in GS total becomes clearly. He will finish his career with more than 20 GS for sure.

(About Djokovic, I think he can surpass Federer in all GS total, week No 1 number and YE No1)

Rafa & Maria Francisca

Good Housekeeping, a women's magazine, has published a nice little article about Rafa & Maria Francisca's 14-years-long romance:

The article says : ¤¤ Rafael Nadal is a household name in the tennis world, but there’s someone he’s always kept out of the public eye: His future wife, Maria Francisca “Xisca” Perelló. Also referred to as “Xisca” and “Mery,” Xisca has been in Rafael’s life since the start of his oh-so-epic career. In fact, he won his first French Open the same year they reportedly started seeing each other.
We needed to know more about this 14-year courtship, so check out our breakdown of their longtime romance.¤¤

Besides Djokovic, Nadal can defeat anyone in NY.
what is your favourite draw for the Spaniard there?

Im not good at things like that lol, i'll def give my thoughts when it's out though. Really no one should trouble him too much if he shows up and plays well. He slayed at the FO and Wimby so that's a good sign. If he can win 3 TBs against Nick on week 1 Wimby grass, he should cruise to week two. Hopefully someone de-machines the draw sooner than later.

Would you like Medvedev and Federer on his side or would you prefer someone like Nishikori and Thiem in his draw?

Watching the last two clips of Rafa practicing - he appears to be very light on his feet with a nice springy step. Good to see such fine movement. Looks like nothing is hurting.
