Nadal playing mind games with Djokovic

If this is a shot at Nole, then it's one I don't understand at all. What "right moments" is he talking about? Nole has beaten him in four of his seven tour championships this year.

Apparently, Ralph has contacted Nike to make him clothes made of ragweed and wheat, in case he plays Nole again.

And those are supposed mind games? Man I expected some juicy stuff, this is basically nothing, you're over analyzing it.

Nadal is simply saying that the greatest players have the tendency to peak at slams, some of the great champs of the last 20 years like Fed and Sampras are best examples of this.

There is still a slight danger that Novak peaked too soon,we've seen that sort of things happen before(most notably Agassis's summer run in 1995)so what Nadal is saying isn't without basis. However if Novak continues this unreal level of tennis even at FO(which I personally think he will,we'll see if I'm right)I'd say he has an excellent shot of grabbing the title.

This time, I think Federer comes to mind. Seems like he's actually taking some pages from Fed, like the way Fed kept trying until he found the perfect moment to finally capture his first and only RG.

There was Nadal for Fed to beat back then, in the same way there is Djokovic on Nadal's way now. If he can't directly beat him, then the best he can do is wait till someone beats him and the best opportunity arises.

Nadal is still great at playing mindgames, but this time it seems more like he's finally realizing how it must have felt to be on Fed's shoes back then.

Roge simply does not play his best at the masters it is just a practice hit for him

True. Nothing Nadal said is controversial at all. Truth is, this streak is ABSOLUTELY MEANINGLESS, as are the tour titles he has won, in terms of greatness. What will matter is his ability to keep this level at that slams. Winning streaks at tour events mean nothing, other than some nice trivia...and to set yourself up mentally as the favorite at the slams. In that sense, IF he is fresh mentally and physically, he's set himself well!

That's exactly what I was thinking.

It means Nadal doesn't give no nevermind bout these small ATP Master 1000's and the AO, Nadal only plays to win when the time is right at the 3 Big Boy Majors.

What if he is referring to Murray beating federer at the masters but at the majors Murray gets his *** handed to him.

The champion in my opinion is not only be able to win every week; it is when they are able to wait at the right moments and I am waiting at every week, trying to find solutions, and we will see what is going on next time… I wish him all the best and I have to wait my moment to win another time.

I am glad to see Rafa is not giving out the humble PC stuff he used to. He is just saying what's on his mind. ....
.... Like Roger has been doing ;)

Yeah, but what if the slav adds another 8 mph on the serve, bh, fh and the endurance that will enable him to run for 11 hours without breaking sweat? All these improvements in less than two weeks.

I think he is talking about playing better on the key points and trying to defend his BH better.

Nadal had Djoker on the ropes for one set in IW and then served at 25% for sets 2 and 3. Chance missed.

Rafa was up one set in Miami and had 15-30 on Novak's serve(with a second serve to work with if I remember it right) at 6-5 in the third set.

Was down 4-0 in the first set of Madrid and almost pushed that set to a tiebreaker.

Also kept it respectable in the second set of Rome, even while moonballing off his BH side most of the time.

Thing is, Nadal is not playing nowwhere near his 2008/2010 form, which is seen against his non-Novak opponents as well but right now Djoker knows how to expose Rafa's game, especially that weak BH reply.

The funny bit about this rivalry right now is that Rafa may have a better shot on a faster court. Any shot from Rafa's fh right now, whether deep/angled/DTL, is brought back by djoker on clay and with the next shot his BH is exposed.

To put it simply, and I think this is what Nadal was saying, Nadal is almost there but he needs Novak to start making some UE. Nadal played a good CC first set tactically yesterday compared to what he has done so far in the clay season and he still lost it 6-4 against this Novak. The way Nole was playing yesterday in the first, most players would have been breadsticked or bageled.

I heard they just found out Djokovic is also lactose intolerant, he is now cutting all dairy products from his diet, in two weeks look out.

That was last week. Yesterday, Dr Igorovic found out that The King is allergic to grass. They've written to the ITF demanding that the grass be uprooted from the courts of Wimbledon and replaced with clay from Rome.
Tennis balls should also not have any fluff, and natural gut should not use animal parts, it should be completely synthetic, since The King is allergic to animal parts.

Nadal says

"The big champions are not just those that are able to win every week but those that are able to wait until the right moment,"

Which indirectly means that Djokovic might not win at the right moment at FO 2011. I think someone should send Djokovic this link. He will be pumped to beat Nadal again and come out in Spartan mode.

You are a disgraceful misrepresenting troll.

He means that he will have to wait for a new opportunity to try to win another tournament, that he has to be patient, and don't get too upset about it. He has to move on, and keep fighting. That's all.

I have a feeling this would also be your interpretation if they asked Nadal what brand of toothpaste he uses.

"Oh he uses enamel protecting as a reminder that his backhand is like enamel and he served at 25% in that final and..."
