Lol at the usual suspect fed trolls that fantasize about Fed beating Nadal!Stop this buffoonery. I could take Nadal to a best of three sets atm.

Except Finland isn't a real place, read it here y'allllll!
The fedal rivalry is a bit odd though as they tend to play in conditions that suit Nadal more than federer. Would Nadal have beaten prime federer at USO? Maybe once but I suspect if they played 6 times there it would be 4-2 federer and likewise at Wimbledon. That's why the federer v djokovic rivalry is probably the more memorable w2008 apart as when they play there is no clear favourite on whatever surface they play on. Similarly Nadal and djokovic is more interesting than fedal rivalry.Just chill out. Nadal looked good vs Verdasco but one good win means nothing. He needs to keep it up and win tournaments again. As for fear some fans have about Nadal returning, I can only speak for myself and I would love to see Nadal return back to winning form. I am sick to death of the current state of men's tennis at the top. I'm a Fedal fan and it's always fun to see a Nadal in top form even if he's beating the crap out of my favorite player Federer.
I agree. I do think Nadal is back mentally though so that stage 1! His game though still needs work. Verdasco was woeful so can't read much into that matchConditions in IW are suitable for Rafa so let's see if he can gain some some wins this week. People using Zverev as a litmus test really shows the current state of his affairs. at this point I need to see wins against top players over several tournaments for me to believe Rafa is back.
Mentally Nadal is back as he looks focussed. My thread didn't say anything about his game per se and the verdasco match is irrelevant as verdasco was dreadful. If Nadal gets to SF then that would be progress but if he loses to djokovic he needs to get a set and have a tight match which if he does could well make the FO attainable. We will see.If you turn out to be right with this one, I will vote is for "2016 TW Insight of the year" award or something like that. (for catching it early with just one match ).
Hope you are right.
NAdal is back, and he will destroy that young upstart. how dare he make it this far and challenge RAFA ............i don't mean his tennis as that is still way off but he is angry and belligerent and when in that mood Nadal is hard to beat!
He did seem content to drift off into retirement but seeing how pumped he was with muller and it's two years since I've seen him like that it looks like that fire is back...finally! Hopefully he will start drilling players through the head when they are at the net like he used to many years ago. What Id also like to see is nadal give some to the French crowds much like djokovic does to all the crowds all over the world who are against him..
Nadal should cup his ears at the French, put his fingers to his lips to shhh them, and occasionally misfit the ball at full speed into the crowd! He should also have more prominently the number 9 showing on his outfits!
zverev a dangerous player but one Nadal needs to be beatingNAdal is back, and he will destroy that young upstart. how dare he make it this far and challenge RAFA ............

In hindsight I think the Qatar hammering knocked Nadal for six. I actually think he thought he would beat djokovic (I saw the hammering coming as he was poor all tournament) but when he got schooled I think he lost faith in what he was practicing. Indian wells always a good yardstick for Nadal as he lives the conditions and often sets his year up if he goes deep.yes, I think he is back to where he was last winter at least.
he had a huge set back at AO and faltered but back to on course for recovery/regaining his form, IMHO.

Indian wells was the catalyst each time so j do think this week is Crucial to his whole yearhmm, good insight again. he must be anxious. maybe a bit too much.
but i think he wanted quick comeback since he made quick comebacks in the past.
maybe he thinks he should come back easily and frustrated.
actually it's a miracle that nadal could make a quick comeback (within a few month) in the past ...
He is still at the iwi'm ok with both destinations, as long as he stays there
