Nadal vs Djokovic Final OR.....Federer vs Djokovic Semi.....which was the higher quality 2010 US Open match?

Nada v djokovic final easily. The Federer, djoker match was pure crap apart from the 5th set, Nadal v Novak match was a high quality in every set.

I was disgusted by the 2nd and 4th sets of the Semi. I was awe-inspired by both players in the Final, throughout.

The final was a whole lot better. The quality of tennis was just amazing by both Djokovic and Nadal.

I went with the final, I wasn't that impressed with Fed's play as compared to Nadal's play in the final. Djokovic played OK in both but not spectacular.

I think drama-wise semifinal was better because Djokovic was finally winning in the US Open and spoiling the Fedal final.
But play-wise, Federer was shanking every 4th ball and two of the sets were blowouts.

Djoker-Nadal final. Better quality throughout. It was nice to see Djoker playing well again.

Djoker-Fed semi. Interesting, almost WTA-like, with neither player sure if they wanted to win it or not. The fifth set was pretty good and brought out some decent play and had a little drama to it. The drama being whether or not there was going to be a Fedal final, and if Nole was going to spoil it.

Both matches didnt really have sustained quality from both players.

Federer and Djoko were both either playing fantastic or very average whereas Nadal had a consistenly high level throughout the whole final.

Federer only showed up for 3 of the 5 sets. I didn't understand...it looked like he didn't want to win those...6-1, 6-2? It's not like Djokovic played beyond God-mode to take those rare destruction sets from Federer.

Anyway, Djokovic fought for the whole match both times. Even the 6-2 set he lost to Nadal was very close, and Djoker ended up saving a ton of break points and playing a lot of close games. The energy was amazing in the 5th set of the Federer match. So I'd say that the best set from Saturday or Sunday was definitely the 5th set of Djokovic Federer. But overall, since the 2nd and 4th sets sucked so much, the final was of higher quality.

Djokovic saved 20 of the 26 breakpoints on his serve (and most of those saves were with clean spectacular winners). Djokovic broke Rafa on 3 of 4 breakpoints. Djokovic the clutchest loser in tennis history.

The final, by far. Then again, I tend to rate Nadal/Djokovic matches higher than Nadal/Federer ones anyway.

Federer-Djokovic was more exciting as it could go either way. Also it had more singular epic points. The play level though, as someone mentioned, alternated from really bad to really good. Overall, I think it was higher quality, but not by too much.

The first two sets of the final were the best (male) tennis of the tournament. Thereafter Djokovic's concentration slipped.

On the ladies side, Stosur vs. Dementieva was the match of the tourney in my book. Either could have won the US Open witha little more luck.

I'm a bit biased and obviously I did not enjoy the final. The SF was great at some points and downright ugly at others, with both players way too on and off. However, just for the fact it was a 5-setter (which this year's USO really lacked) and for the sheer drama of the 5th set I would go with Rog/Nole.

As for quality of play, Nadal was peerless.

Final was better quality for me. I still think Djokovic is the better HC player than Rafa and he will win once he gets his mojo back.

Semi final was a bad match except for 5th set. Both Federer and Djokovic played bad.

The semi had more drama but the final had a higher quality tennis. Nole played about the same in both matches, and Nadal played about the same level as Federer in the first 2 sets. In the last 2 sets, Nadal remembered that he can play aggresive tennis and then it was over.

Rafa will never play the level Federer played in sets 2 and 4, that is for sure. Most blatant tanks of the year. It was as if Federer needed this match to go 5 because a bookie paid him off.

Djokovic played much better in the Semi but Nadal played better than Federer. Tough choice but I choose the finals.
