Nadal will win the French Open

Okay, I have seen enough of clay season to know that Bull will win the French Open this year. THESIS

- Federer added one in Australia, so Bull knows he needs one to keep up
- Bull is breezing through clay season, barely breaking a sweat, winning everything in sight
- Bull is no longer held down by Uncle Toni. He is free
- Djokovic is down and out, he is no threat
- Murray is down and out, he is no threat, especially on the RG clay
- Federer will never be a threat on clay, especially taking all this time off
- Nishikori is fragile physically and mentally and will not challenge Bull in Bull's kingdom
- Berdych is no threat
- Wawrinka is fading and has lost his big-time ability
- Raonic is no threat
- None of the "young guns" are ready
- Kyrgios does not have the ability to ballbash for 5 sets like he would need to in order to fluke a victory
- Zverev isn't there yet

Realistically, there is not a single player that can beat Bull at RG unless Bull is injured. I will not be surprised if oddsmakers close the books because it is going to be so one-sided. This is probably the most never-in-doubt tournament we've ever witnessed.

If these three points are pillars in your thesis, then it's an epic fail. We all figured this put about 6 years ago. Kind of like saying "Robredo and Almagro are no threats!"

"- Wawrinka is fading and has lost his big-time ability"

You do know Wawrinka actually holds a slam title right?

I wanted to check all the boxes. But you are correct, they aren't even worth writing out, that's how little of threats they are.

History has told us at FO nadal should keep an eye on some "nobody".

I do think that Rafa will win and in fact I want him to win and see "La Decima" at a major but OP, matches are held for a reason.

Thank you Captain Obvious for telling us what we knew when Federer announced his clay sabbatical.

I think this year is Federer best chance to upset Nadal at the FO. His "new" backhand still gives Nadal nightmares after the AO and IW.

Nadal will go down hard because the best of Five sets will wear him out, inevitably. Also he will be very tense since the 10 RG titles Decima hyping gives a lot of pressure, so the injuries can come popping up at any time, anywhere.

In his favour is perhaps a draw with spanjards and losers, mental midgets that will not test him. But if he is tested 2-3 times prior to the semi he will surely collapse.

That inevitably happens in every tournament with the field being what it is right now.
Any potential threats like Kyrgios and Delpo will be all be stacked in the other half of the draw with Djoko :)

Well yeah, do the Grand Slam organizers draw the lots in public, are they overseen by independent people from atp players, iow, is any of this in the open?

Nothing is done in the open, AFAIK.
They do draw the lots only for deciding the QF or SF in public in some slams...but where all 128 players are placed is not done in public.

Ok - thanks. It will not be like Monte Carlo, I assume, but we will have to look out again for a hopefully balanced draw. 100% transparancy is asking for too much it appears.

Agree with absolutely every single premise here except Wawrinka and Murray. I'm not so sure Murray is completely done (hoping to see him and Djokovic back at their best - tennis is better with them in form)

You forgot about 1 guy

Delpo

Delpo is proven pretty much everywhere but I doubt he can beat Nadal on clay in Bo5. It took a herculean effort for him to beat Murray in similar conditions late last year and Murray's clay credentials are nowehere near what Nadal is at right now.
