Bold prediction: Rafael Nadal will be the last Big 3 member to retire from tennis

Many expect Bull to be the first one to retire or that Djokovic will be the last one but the way I see it, out of the Big 3 it's Bull who is gonna be the last one to retire. Federer will be the first, I expect Basel 2024 to be his last tournament.

Djokovic will have 2 more seasons at the top, so 2023 is probably his last season being a favorite for the Big titles and he won't stay on tour for long afterwards. 2025 is his last season on tour most likely.

Bull though will stay with us for a long time, he won't retire unless there is no chance for him to win RG and that won't happen anytime soon. I expect him to be semiretired by 2024, only entering and playing clay events and as long he can keep himself fresh and healthy for the clay, he'll be a top favorite for RG. Don't be surprised when you see 40 yo Bull still vamosing and fist pumping on Philippe Chatrier. Bull's schedule will be something like this in a couple of years; Monte Carlo, Barcelona, Madrid, RG.

Worst case scenario for Bull is that we see him struggle with injuries forcing him to say goodbye in 2024 with Fed but let's hope that the three of them can go out on their terms.

Discuss.

No way his schedule will be the one mentioned by you, all gs will surely be a fixture in any of the big 3 scheduling ( maybe no Rg for federer)

I won’t be surprised to see Nadal fighting along thru 40 and his game is unique enough that he’ll be a top 8 contender if not a top 3 favorite. Movement will be his problem. It already is frankly.

What I don’t see is Djokovic letting go before Rafa. These two are too competitive.

I think it’s much more likely that one of them suffers a serious injury or simply can’t move well enough to play well and is FORCED into retirement a la Murray. I really see that being the end. Last man standing will probably snag the slam record by enduring.

I would like Roger Federer to retire after both of them and also with 1 more slams than them both :D

But I guess thats not going to happen :(

Novak might retire the last, I dont think Bull will be playing till 40, but lets see, the moment a youngsters comes and beats Bull then the Bull is over, he has just 1 slam where he is invincible..... so as long as that remains he will be there.

Novak is the big threat !!

Fed will be the first to retire and it will be this year depending on results or max next year at Wimby or basel if not this years Basel.
I think Nadal retires 2024.
Novak probably then or 2025
You will still see the big 3 in exhos and the laver cup

When next year after the AO he realizes that he is still at 18 he will give up on the race and retire.
Djokovic is going nowhere unless he's just physically unable to play. Same with Federer.
No idea about Nadal because he's already an injured person who plays tennis sometimes.

Considering that Federer is already on his last legs, it is between Nadal and Djokovic really, and those two will continue as much as they can now, that the horizon has been clear from elite level competition for years.

The history of the sport teaches us that (with the exception of Borg) the ATGs retire from the game when they are pushed out from their younger generation successors and never for other reasons, if they are healthy. So, between Nadal and Djokovic everything will depend on whose health holds up longer. Nadal has been playing the injury card since forever, and here we are, so don't count too much that he will be the first to fizzle out.
