Just thought you'd like to know i just saw a close up of nadal's racquet and you could see the throat and side of the head and their was no lead tape i did read that he'd got it specially weighted and tilted to one side
In December 2003, Rafa switched from his Babolat Pure Drive to a prototype racquet. The racquet is called the "Babolat Aeropro Drive," and is now available for sale. His grip size is 4-1/4 (Babolat VS Overgrip). His strings are Pro Hurricane 135/15L, and his tension is 24 kg. As for weight, starting from a standard frame available in shops, Babolat adds 21 grams, 15 under the bumper (top head) and 5 grams at the bottom. Weight: 321 g BP 32.7 cm unstrung. He does. Hurricane doesn't come in bright yellow. BTW, 321g is an extremely light stick for a pro player, especially one as strong as Rafa......imagine how big (power)his fh could be if it was heavier!!!....But he'd lose some penetration.
Many pros, including Guga and Stich who is 6'4" like to use 1/4 - they like their fingers to easily touch their palm, rather than the index finger seperation often recommended. It also helps with the serve. Flat hitters like Chris Evert often use big grips - she used 3/4 on the tour, no idea what she uses now.
321 grams, 32,7cm balance unstrung means strung, with overgrip 346 grams (321 grams racquet+18 grams string 7 grams overgrip) with a balance of 33,2 cm.
I remember that Federers racquet is 357 grams (strung with overgrip). Not much difference.
