New Racquet

Here's my situation:

I have a K6.1 Team and I'll pass it to my brother. So I'll need to buy some new racquets for me. I probaly wnat a racquet that have some of these things:

-head size: 90 to 95 sq.inch.
-weight: 320-350 g
-balance: 5 points HL or more

I search in TW and I find some racquets that caught my atention:

-Redondo
-Prince Graphite Classic
-Yonex RDS 001 , 90sq.inch.
-K90

Please, tell me how do they play and which is the best for a all round player with 1HFH and 2HBH.

And, could you post pictures of your Redondo and Price Classic to see them in diferent angles, please!!

The Redondo has a dense string pattern so it's not quite so good for generating spin as the K90. The Redondo is a very nice racquet if you have arm problems, play a classical game, can generate your own power and want lots of feel and control.

The K90 has more power, more spin capability, better stability (nothing like mass to help there), as long as you don't mind carrying the extra swingweight around.

what are you finding wrong with the kteam? going from something light to something heavy with a smaller head is a pretty big switch. I just noticed that in your signature you have the kteam and npro open listed, two racquets that are great sticks but are a little lighter and at least 95 sq. in, is this the sort of racquet you are more used to?

Not sure if you are able to demo the K90 and Yonex RDS 001, but I would recommend those two. Both seem to be well liked racquets. I had the TEAM and I did not like it at all. Niot stable, poor maneuvarability at the net, not to stable at returns...I just hated that racquet. Its hard to get/find the Redondo 90. The POG is a good choice too, but maybe try the newer racquets and go from there. good luck.

the N pro Open is my dad's racquet..

the problem of the k team is that my coach tell me that I play better if I have a smaller head size and a heavier racquet (my kteam is costumised to 342g of weight).

I could be wrong but k team is even balance right..?? k team was a gift of my coach...and I think I need a hl racquet caz my game is essencialy, top spin groundstrokes and net play, as well a high kick serve.

I'd say that the Redondo and K90 are different racquets and better is frequently up to the individual.

well i'm not coach, but to me the kteam is built for heavy groundstrokes and a modern game. Alot of folks who say heavy with a small headsize are simply wrong, many college players use racquets like the pure drive, with a bigger headsize and still pretty light weight. Use what feels right for you, but i'd say demo extensively before committing to a midsize beast. 95 isnt oversize by any means.

I would probably go with the K90, K95, Kblade 93 or 98, Micro. Prestige 93 or 98.

I'm thinking now, getting anothers k teams or chose between kblade tour and head prestige (I'm not sure if chose liquidmetal or microgel). In my point of view that's a decision I have to make by myself. I'll think about it and I will tell ya which thinking I choose.

are you saying you produced more spin with the Team (18X20) than the K90 (16X19)?? The Team is so much lighter. I assume you play with lighter racquets, cuz theose 2 racquets are completely different.

K90 is the most stable and controlable, but has quite short grip, so it isn´t so comfortable for 2HBH. My choice would be probably DNX 10 mid or maybe better new coming BB11 mid. Something between RDS001 mid-less power than dnx, but found more forgiving sweetspot for its headsize

The K90 is really sensitive to string tension. And of course it's heavy. And it took me a while to get used to so it may be something that takes getting used to. I have one arriving in the office today and I'm hoping that it's close in weight and balance to the other one.

I ordered to matched K90's from TW. I am waiting for them and I hope they will arrive by Friday. I hope the racquet you get feels the same to you. I see you string the K90 at 53 lbs. What other tension did you string at and why/how did you end up w/53 lbs?

Have you thought about maybe going with the k6.1 95? If you're set on going heavier then I would go with the k95. I wouldnt really worry about what your coach has to say about headsize, 95-100 sq in is surely the most popular headsize in the world among players of all levels, but especially players of high caliber. If you work on your technique more you will hit with enough spin, pace, and consistency with that midplus headsize. You may like the kblade tour or prestige, but if you're thinking about prestige mids, i dont think you're really going to see much of a difference between them, the kblade tour, and the k90 regarding spin potential. If you didnt have it with the k90's 16x19 bed and 90" head, you probably won't get any more spin with the 18x20 beds of the kblade and prestige mids, which are pretty much the same size headsize as the k90. A midplus prestige, on the other hand, may be right up your alley for the topspin strokes and big serve. If you are comfortable with the midplus headsize and have developed your game with one, I wouldnt go mid just because it will be "better." Mids are better for some folks, not for others, and you can decide that through demoing, but dont let folks try to tell you that mid is the best. I'd go with either the regular k6.1 95 (experiment with the string patterns) or with the prestige midplus
