New TW String Comparison Video

We just finished our first ever string comparison video. Andy and Chris, compared two popular polyester strings: Luxilon ALU Power 16L and Babolat RPM Blast 17. Please check out the video:

We want to hear your thoughts on what we did well and what we could improve on. Any suggestions for future string comparisons? Would you like to see more of these type of videos? Any other products you would like to see racquets, shoes, etc?

Thanks,

Great review. Thank you. I am sure there will be more comparison tests to come with other popular strings in lower price range. but what about the category of weight of the string ? like which string felt lighter ?

Keep up the awesome innovation and work, would love to see more of these in the future, maybe even including strings that haven't been reviewed yet but deserve to be at least somewhat reviewed in a comparison experiment. Also, I agree on the final decision ;)

Excellent! Thanks.

Great idea. Those are 2 of the most used strings on tour and other strings are always being compared to them.

I love it, well done!

Perhaps the next pair could be more comfortable polys like Yonex poly tour pro, Head Hawk Touch and the like.

Nice.

Interesting to hear Chris comment that RPM Blast (or both for that matter) gave him 3 weeks of playability even with the tension drop.

Personally ~3 matches always seem to be my limit with RPM and then the string just dies suddenly and harshly.
Lose directional control, less spin, and string wont move back into position like it should.

But on all the other points for RPM blast I felt the same.

Great video! I like the Graphic Checklist, nice touch. Future comparison video suggestions:

Volkl Cyclone vs. Solinco Hyper -G
Gosen OG Micro Sheep 16 vs. Prince Synthetic Gut
OR any Best Seller vs. Best Seller string.
Classic Racquets vs. Reissue Classic Racquets
Grips vs Grips
Vibration Dampeners vs. Rubber Bands

Looking forward to more videos!

Great video.

Please consider doing some comparisons of the same brand and type of string but in different gauges. (For example, Brand X Poly in 1.30, 1.25, 1.20, 1.15 etc.) In my view, those comparisons are of greater value to the average purchaser than comparing Brand X -vs- Brand Y of similar type.)

There are also some offerings that are the same gauge but different colours. Perhaps consider doing some comparisons of the more popular products in that area. (Although I can see that becoming pretty complicated for you guys and potentially confusing for many buyers.)

Nice video! Very informative. Thanks for doing this.

It would be useful if you could post the same stroke attempts (say an out wide top spin serve) with the strings being compared, so we can visually judge the difference.

Could you please let me know what camera the video was shot on and what the frame rates for the slow motion portions were.

My experience with RPM is similar, but more dramatic. I've found that fresh off the stringer, RPM has incredilble spin ..... for about 1 set ! I'm talking about every forehand making the ball look like an egg, crazy high hopping bounces, etc. Once the slickness wears away, RPM loses those special qualities. IMO, Alu Power plays better for longer than RPM. If I were changing racquets every set, RPM is the string, though.
