an Alpha Pioneer DC Plus. It's been quite a few years since I've been on the court after blowing up my right shoulder at a tournament. I have three old racquets that need to be strung, and two new racquets that I will probably change out the strings fairly quickly, so I thought this would pay for itself sooner rather than later. I'll probably drop in and ask some stupid questions from time to time, even after watching the YULitle videos.

congrats.

congratulations on your new toy. i'm very much interested on how it works out for you. i'm assuming you're a newbie stringer like I will be. Apologise if you're not, but I still want to hear how it goes.
i'm on the same boat right now. currently looking into purchasing my first stringer and deciding between the Eagnas combo 710/challenger I, alpha pioneer dc plus and the gamma counterpart.

I have never strung a racquet, so yes I'm a total newb. And, since you mention Eagnas I tell my little story. I did a lot of research before deciding to purchase a machine. But I went against almost everything I learned and tried to purchase an Eagnas Flex865S. Got an email from Eagnas stating the CC company said my billing address was not correct, I checked my Eagnas account and the information was correct, I also replied to their email with the correct information, and went to their website and sent the same information with my order number via their Contact form. Got three of the same emails from Eagnas in the following days, all replied to, with no indication that they received my previous confirmations. Eagnas had a hold on my CC as this was going on. I sent them an email requesting they cancel my order and remove the hold, they sent an email back stating the order was canceled; then they proceeded to remove the hold and charge my card. Dumb luck sometime pays off.

Very True, things happen for a reason. In your case, it turned out to be in your favor. I was so decided with the Eagnas machine based on cost but the customer service, or lack thereof is making me think twice. Being on the East coast will mean very expensive shipping charges if I need to have it serviced/repaired for whatever problems that may arise.

i dont understand peoples remarks for Eagnas. Ive had my machine for a year so far and its still great and everytime i call the guy gives great customer service. I think the problem is people call and ask for things that they know eagnas wont do like get clamps for another brands machine and the guy gets pissed which i totally understand. When i called i was warmly greeted and the person on the line spent 35 minutes describing the differences between all the machines I had questions on

Have been reading posts on this site for well over a year, the issue seems to be this particular company has a case of BCS.

Bipolar Customer Service...For every reported instance of acceptable service, it appears as if there is one of below acceptable service.

It's very hard to understand or figure out what is going on. Service and support are key factors on any piece of equipment. I've dealt personally w/Gamma & with Stringway/Alpha and both in my experiance have been excellant. I'm sure others have seen the same, and experianced the same from other manufacturers.

I'm not trying to knock Eagnas.....too much, as I think they provide a good value for the dollar, and there are some reviews were people are very happy with their product. But after my experience I just wasn't comfortable and decided to go with the Alpha.

I recieved my machine, and am having a bit of a problem. But it is no big deal, and I believe I have a fix without any warrenty support.

bageler, welcome to the club after much research I also went with the Alpha Pioneer DC Plus. I haven't regretted it for a second. Good instructional DVD and great service. I only needed to use the service once and that was early on. Alpha sent me the parts to fix at no cost. In retrospect the reason the spring failed was operator error. I suspect Mark knew this but sent me the part (spring) anyway.

I do suggest buying a starting clamp as well, it has proven invaluable. The other thing that has proven invaluable is the advice on this forum. I would list the reputable contributors but fear I may miss someone. You'll quickly figure out whose advice to take and whose to leave.

Have fun

Thanks leaf,
My problem is, one of my side mount posts will not install in the mount hole (I believe the mount hole is not to spec). However, it will fit into the bottom of the mount hole so I removed the opposite mounts and flipped them over and switched them. Getting the springs back in place correctly is a pita. I am hoping to string my first racquet tomorrow. But the machine is definitely solid and well built.

My experience with Eagnas was a breakdown in communication. I felt they had a hard time explaining in English...

Aside from that, I felt that they had the impression that once the item left their warehouse they had no further obligations.
