Nick K should hire Dustin Brown as a coach or it at least emulate his approach to tennis

I'm posting this in the hopes that Nick has a fake account on this forum and reads all the posts. Dustin has a great attitude, fun to watch, amazing talent, and he clearly enjoys playing tennis and his game. Nick could learn a lot from Dustin.

If you have not seen this match, Brown vs Nadal, Hall grass courts, watch the highlights and tell me Nick shouldn't take Dustin's approach to tennis. It's a thing of beauty.

Still don't believe me, check out Brown vs Monfils on clay - Awesome.

Yes, I would pay to watch Nick play with reckless abandon and joy, instead of brooding and sulking over making millions playing a game. He has an estimated net worth of $10M, 24 years old, and he's unhappy? That's a much bigger waste than not fully reaching his playing potential.

Do get the sense that Nick would have more success with a go for broke + occasional clowny point style. I know he's not super consistent when he goes big with the forehand, but why not try to hit bigger more often instead of getting into the junkball rallies? Maybe he finds that fun though, I dunno.

It’d just be a waste of talent.

As one poster on this forum said “Nick has more talent in his sneezes than Nadal has in his whole academy”.

Guys immensely talented. DB might love tennis and enjoy tennis, but if you see his showman game as someone who’s talented you’re mistaken. He’s fun to watch, sure. But I’d much rather Nick show off his talents to the fullest instead of turning into a mug (which he already is anyways).

He should just hire Mansour Bahrami and just go full trick shot mode on every point. It's all he wants to do anyway.

That reminds me of what McEnroe once said of Lendl, "I've got more talent in my little finger than he has in his whole body". Of course he hated Lendl and feelings like that can warp objective judgement. Ditto Nick and Nadal.

Kyrgios is almost done career-wise. He is pretty much like Marcelo Rios. Kyrgios is 24 years old now. He's getting to the point where youth and raw talent simply cannot overcome lack of training, lack of discipline, lack of sleep, partying, and lack-of-focus. I see him being around for maybe three more years (at most) and then calling it quits.

Brown would not be a good strategic coach, but he can really help Kyrgios with his mentality. While Brown's old-school s&v style doesn't achieve nearly as much as the top players, he has a great approach to tennis and seems much more hardworking and passionate about the game.

Except that Rios won 5 Masters titles, made a Slam final and reached #1 before he was done.

If he had that big talent he was going to be ranked higher. All of the clowning and the I lose only when I clown attitude is to hide how scared he is that he won't succeed. Some flashy points here and there doesn't mean he is better than the other guys around top 20-50

I wonder if Nadal thinks DB has no talent, there's a difference between discipline and talent. As far as what a poster on the forum implying Nadal isn't in the same league as NK talent wise, he might as well have claimed the earth is flat.
