There is a post out here where Kyle Edmund is wearing some Nikes that look to be most likely cage 4s in practice....

Any clue what Edmund is wearing here?

Vapor Cage 4s seem to be positioned as the new flagship shoe based on the price. They'll be most expensive of Nike's standard line ("non-knit", "special make" or "player-branded") of shoes.

There's a pick of Nadal on @TennisSpree IG feed wearing some new shoe... if he's carrying on the Cage line, this could be the new Cage...

The design Edmund is wearing looks similar of the rendering of Nadal on the Tennis Spree page so I'd say..yes..Nadal is expected to be wearing some custom version of the Vapor 4 Cage.

I hope they do come out with a new Nike Cage 4. I’ll be sure to stock up on all the Cage 3’s that go on sale. :p

The leaked pics (over on Niketalk) show more of the upper design. It's interesting - it looks like the outsole kinda wraps upwards onto the medial toebox. It's Venom-esque. Kinda cool. The top-down view reminds me of a CourtBallistec (1.3) and less of a "Cage" shoe since there doesn't seem to be that 'cage' overlay anymore.

Heel kind of reminds me a bit of the zeros.

Don’t get why the vapor in the name.

Yeah. I still would rather it be a ZZ2 than a Cage 4... but whatever. It's a new shoe to get excited about because the current Cage doesn't work for me with all that exposed plastic shank on the outsole... new one seems to have rubber throughout the outsole (which adds to weight, so why call it a "vapor"?).

Just saw on Niketalk as well, definitely looks like as if ZZ and the Cages had a baby it would be this shoe. Looks much slimmer... Hoping it still offers the same stability.

Just saw these. They look great. Glad they're using elements of the Air ZZ.

Don't understand the mixing of the 2 silos...Vapor has traditionally been the "speed" focused range and the Cage/Ballistec/Breathe has been the "power/stability/durable". Maybe these attributes are not mutually exclusive, but it's a big ask to create a "one shoe to rule them all".

To be fair, Nike did make the Cage 3 much lighter than the previous versions and pretty low to the ground with decent durability... at the cost of comfort and cushioning. I wouldn't be surprised by an attempt from Nike to restore some comfort to the shoe.

In my eyes, the Cage 3 was an atrocity. The upper east that supportive after it stretched (and it stretched a lot), nor did it stand up to toe dragging. The shank was prone to cracking, and it just looked weirdly organic, like alien goo.

Hopefully they take some cues from the Vapor upper and inject some life into Rafas shoes.

To be fair I feel like they improved them in later iterations — ideally, they should have launched the 3 like that. My 3rd pair seemed to hold up as long as the Cage 2 and I'm a toe dragger.

Agreed. I hated the rounded heel, it felt very unstable at all times. I have big hopes for the VaporThing.
