Nike Vapor X Knit durability

I've been using the normal version of the Vapor X for while now, my only issue with them being some durability issues with the outsole underneath my big toe. On the TW website it says that their have been changes to the outsole on the knit version to improve durability but from what I have read elsewhere the outsole is the same. So is there any real difference in the outsole?

Not from what I notice. Looks the same, and I presume it plays the same. However TW said that it felt slicker, but that may just because they did the review of the normal vapor x in 2018 and the knit in 2019, things change.

Unfortunately, I have the "Copenhagen interpretation" of the Vapor X vs Knit X, ran through both in under 5-5.5 weeks. The Knit's fit is more sockliner like than the regular VX which I like, while others may not! If you drag your toe on serve, use the Vapor X for "important" matches and get a durability shoe. There are now some very decent ones out there.

The big issue with durability is that the clear plastic triangles used for the toe guard are not very durable. I do drag my left foot a bit on my backhand, and in less than 10 hours, the toe guard has been worn down into the flyknit.

Thoughts on aesthetics of the shoe? I think it is beautiful, which is why I haven’t worn my pair yet.

@Tennis sprew - I absolutely love the look of the shoe. I have the blue/black with the iridescent swoosh from last fall. I've been reluctant to wear them to save them as much as possible. Still, even with less than 10 hours, the toe guard on my left shoe literally turned to dust. Even more frustrating since there's very little wear elsewhere, just the toe. Even the outsole is holding up fine (at least what I would expect from a Vapor X). I also wasn't fond of the fit out of the box since it was much more snug than the standard Vapor, but after a little break-in period, I'm fine with it. As much as it pains me since the shoes look so good, I don't think I'll be buying any more of the flyknits due to the toe guard durability.

Yep, only wore mine sparingly on grass over the summer, along with the ZVC4s. The Vapor X Clays and in particular the Yonex Eclipsions do the heavy lifting. I imagine wearing Flyknit on clay, particularly in warm weather, would leave you with damp clay residue all over the external material; probably one of the reasons there doesn't seem to be a clay court sole option.
