Ok what's up with Schwartzy? The last two tournaments he's been blasted score wise winning only three games in both matches to Gasquet and Tsistipas.

I was hoping he'd have a big coat court season. Have people figured out how to beat him?

I watched the highlights of his match against Tsist.

Diego's 1st serve is not a weapon at all. In the stats shown for the first set, he was >80% 1st serves in, but was just barely winning over 50% of his 1st serve points.

Hard to win ATP championships with those kind of stats...

I think that he performs better on hard court....specially on serves, the slow surface doesn´t help him...Ironically bc he grows on clay courts

That's true but he has also played very well on the clay in the past. I was surprised that he didn't go deeper the last two weeks and I am stunned that he was so easily dispatched by Gasquet and Tsitispas. Last year he won the most games against Rafa at Monte Carlo.

He's a journeyman, can't expect consistency. He'll be good one month, mediocre the next.

He's one of those cute underdog stories in tennis but well, not much more than that.

Sorry, but no matter how right you might be, the only one deserving to be called just by Diego, it’s Maradona.
In Argentina, you would either be misunderstood, or immediately interrupted and corrected.

I think the clay hurts him because the ball bounces over is head.
That should allow him to play overheads on all the shots and should hit like serve on all of them without being constrained by service boxes. In fact this should benefit him. You give that benefit to Karlovic he would be CYGS for 10 years in running.

Here in the States, heresy about to be stated, there is a children's show called Go Diego Go and I was playing with that. Diego is Dora the Explorer's cousin.

I said after the Gasquet match he won't win another match this season if he carries on playing like that.

Blaming his serve is misguided; his serve has always been garbage for the ATP. He makes up for it on return which is why he's a clay courter.

His all round game is failing, he's forgotten how to hit groundstrokes. Hasn't broken serve in any of his 3 losses during the clay season, returning serve is normally Diegos strength.

Could be a confidence thing.

Well at least he won 7 games against Nadal and won 2 matches before that. I hope he plays well in Rome and his best in Paris.
