Novak's secret to success

“Well, he (Kyrgios) is (naughty), but, actually, deep inside, I think he is a very good guy. He has a little bit of an identity crisis, I think. He is still trying to establish himself. I spoke to him in New York. I said, ‘Listen, I know everyone criticised you, and I was one of them,’ and I was happy to tell him that face-to-face. But I wanted to add that I suffered similar things, maybe not to that extent, and it is a very valuable experience. I said, ‘If you ever want to talk to me, I am here and I am willing to help you.’ I practise with him, and I talk to him, and he is a good guy, and really, really talented.”

Quite a No. 1.

That was the exact part that caught my eye.

He's a good man.

Its great article, I think everyone should read it, not politically correct like players usually says during press conferences.

"I can carry on playing at this level because I like hitting the tennis ball."

Also he goes on about other less interesting topics such as gluten, mindfulness, and praising Kyrgios.

Bolded part is not really his secret, though, is it? He is talented and motivated and lucky (to be healthy). That's the right mix he is uitlizing to the maximum. I don't think that one necessarily follows from the other, however. Life can change on the drop of a dime. In my country we say for such statements that it is tempting fate.

So what's your point, he should not say this? Because he has every right to say it. Have to read whole article and not take 1 sentence at a time.
