im getting my tour 95s with this cause the guy at the shop reccomended it to me. also, he said the technifibre nrg i had ordered in my racquets from tw wasn't good, is this true?

I disagree on the NRG2 not being a "good" string. Its a fine multimfiament but it is powerful and over time will lose its tension. NXT Tour is also a fine multi too, a step above the reg NXT.

IMHO, Tecnifibre's Biphase X-One is much better than both of these multis and you should definitely give it a dance in your racquet. It isn't as powerful as NRG2 but produces a more consistent stringbed and better tension maintenance. The new 18g is coming out this month.

I agree with you Match-Point. My customers in FL love the TF X-1 Biphase. I carry only the 1.24mm and I am hearing nothing but praise for this string from everyone. They don't even mind that it's not that durable and that's good for my business!! And a total breeze to string!

I am not a fan of the NXT because it drops tension quickly and is not very durable. If the shop only carries Wilson strings then go with the NXT OS, the best of the NXT lot, IMO. As others have stated Technifiber X-one Biphase is a a very decent multi. Like the NXT, the NRG loses tension quickly and is not all that durable. In my opinion the NXT and NRG are very similar and I don't usually recommend either. There are much better alternatives out there. If cost is an issue give the Yonex Super 850 series or the Unique Tournafiber Irradiated a whirl. You'll be glad you did!

I can't stand the NXT, used it straight and as a hyprid with some Lux, either way the NXT failed after 2 sets. Tried 16 and 17 gauge and at least 3 different NXT variates (including the supposedly more durable variety, whatever they call that stuff). Feel wasn't any better than cheap gosen syn gut. For the price, you can definately do better. I like the NRG and Xcel more (they aren't great, but better than NXT) if you want a soft multi.

I'm using NXT 17 right now, not the tour. It feels great and has good comfort, I don't know about the durability yet or how it feels after a few more hours of play, but it's definitely nice for the first 2 hours atleast.

agree with Match-Point NXT starts out good, alas the tension loss is quick and profound Klip. Excel. is better.

I have personally been impressed with the NXT Tour 17....lots of feel and bite.

Yes. Lots of touch.

And it hasn't lost the tension for me (at 68, measured with stringmeter).

The OP should use Babolat Elastocross to extend the life.

Not sure if very good for very heavy topspinners.

I just tried NXT Max 16 for the first time last week. I liked how it played but it did feel it lost alot of tension...From a price stand point/playability/durability - I will probably not use it again. I carry it for a few customers, but I don't think I will use it again...

I liked Sensation NXT, but wanted to change racquets after a set because it felt mushy. I have not felt that way about other multis that have been mentioned here. CAVEAT: In general, I do not like multis for my racquets.

Has anyone ever discuused whether Wilson's French-made strings are actually just repackaged Tecnifibre or Babolat strings?

I believe the more expensive Wilsons are all made in France. Correct?

BTW, I don't consider NRG a powerful string because the power only lasts a couple of hours. So if your strings last you a few months like mine do, the power really isn't a feature of this string.

Considering the price of NXT, minus well pay twice as much for real natural gut. Last me over 3 times longer.
